Assess the data and suggest improvements as needed. - Serve as the director for the department’s Global Musculoskeletal Health Equity Division (GMHED) program, including organizing meetings with global partners, overseeing program budget and expense reimbursement, facilitating multidisciplinary relationships, and coordinating overseas travel - Serve as the administrator for the Healthcare Immersion Program. Our CSP department is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing and safely transporting reusable surgical instruments to our surgical areas. CSP also provides disposable medical supplies to the perioperative areas via surgical case carts.     The mission is to provide customers with products that are 100% clean, complete, sterile and delivered on time. The process is complex due to the vast amounts and variety of surgical instruments found in each tray and meeting the demand of our very busy operating rooms here at HSS. The CSP team prides themselves in being engaged and compliant to regulatory standards for quality and patient safety in order to deliver the best service and products for patients that come to HSS.   In the Central Sterile Technician role, we rely on you to adhere to the mission by ensuring the delivery of our world-renowned patient care, and providing sterile supplies, instruments and equipment required for patients undergoing orthopedic surgical interventions. You will support all patient care areas by properly processing surgical equipment using washers, sterilizers, dryers, and heat sealers. The Orthopedic Service Line Director will build a program with the aim of establishing the service line as the provider of choice for inpatient orthopedic surgery.   The Orthopedic Service Line Manager shall assist Partner Hospital in the areas of: - Quality oversight - Service line development - Stakeholder engagement and operations quality - Day-to-day outpatient and inpatient operations As a component of the Management Services, the Orthopedic Service Line Director shall: - Specific Job Duties. Assist Partner Hospital in operating the Service Line by providing the following management services: - Leads implementation of orthopedic service line activities at Partner Hospital, as directed by the Chief Executive Officer of Partner Hospital, in consultation with HSS, to facilitate and coordinate the provision of clinical services in the Service Line in accordance with recognized standards to deliver safe, efficient, quality care to patients. - Participates in meetings focused on operational strategic planning, program development, quality improvement, cost efficiencies, and customer satisfaction for orthopedic surgery including the Joint Operating Board (JOB) and committees of the JOB, and provide professional leadership and physician input with respect to specific initiatives approved by the JOB. - Assist as a liaison for the Service Line among administrative departments and committees of Partner Hospital as well as the medical staff. - At the request of Partner Hospital, assist with the preparation and response to surveys conducted by governmental authorities and other accrediting bodies. - Support the policies of Partner Hospital in all respects, including being proactive relative to Partner Hospital's growth, working cooperatively with Partner Hospital employees, being supportive of patients and assisting in building overall engagement. - Work with Partner Hospital to advance a healthy work environment rooted in a culture that supports collaboration, communication and accountability. - Support cross department collaboration. - Participates in the Partner Hospital Division of Surgery Committee and Physician Advisory Council, as requested by Partner Hospital's CEO. - Clinical and Operational Management. Working in cooperation with Partner Hospital, Manager shall assist as follows with respect to the clinical and operational aspects of the Service Line: - Provide and, subject to approval of Partner Hospital, implement its best practice standards. - Provide and implement patient care protocols for the delivery of Service Line services, including protocols pertaining to the most appropriate setting for such services (inpatient and outpatient) as well as critical care use. - Advises on clinical research opportunities. - Assist in the development and implementation of the drug formulary (e.g., antibiotic stewardship program, anticoagulants following total joint replacement procedures) and provide supply chain advisory services related to implantable devices and/or other medical supplies and devices. - Participates in, make recommendations to and reviews feedback from cost containment committee on equipment purchase and supplies management to include new products/implants to meet operating margins by managing supply costs, promoting standardization and inventory control. - Assist with and oversee process of standardization for orthopedic implantable devices that is determined by Partner Hospital on Director's recommendation. - Participates in Partner Hospital's performance management and innovation initiatives as they pertain to increasing quality, efficiency and effectiveness of care delivered to patients. Participation may include meetings, development and adoption of evidence-based protocols and review of practitioner and group data. - Staff and Community Outreach/Education. - Educates medical staff about the program using current evidence-based guidelines, care pathways, and pain management protocols to increase understanding of services and to improve patient care. - Provides educational sessions to nursing, surgical techs, and physical therapy staff on orthopedic surgery patient management to include providing continuing education programs for Service Line staff, including medical staff, which may include videoconferencing sessions, observer ships at Director's HSS Florida location, online learning modules and individual training at Partner Hospital. - Advises on speakers/topics for programs and presentations at hospitals and in the community. - Quality and Safety: - Coordinate the development and implementation of Partner Hospital quality safety and patient satisfaction initiatives. - Works with Partner Hospital and its medical staff leadership to develop and implement clinical pathways for orthopedic surgery procedures. - Works with Partner Hospital's CNO and Director of Quality Improvement to review data related to infections and develop strategies for improvement. - Works with the medical staff on processes and pathways related to perioperative and post-op care for orthopedic surgery patients. - Supports the culture of patient safety in orthopedic surgery by regularly reviewing data related to outcome measures (i.e., falls, readmissions, etc.) and developing strategies for improvement. - Responsible for achieving joint commission accreditation for hip/knee/spine. - Medical Staff. Subject to Partner Hospital's oversight of, ultimate control over and responsibility for its staff, and agreement to consider the following in good faith: - Make recommendations as to front line staff hiring and coordinate recruiting, on-boarding, and training. - Make recommendations concerning other policies and staffing with the aim of improving the culture and quality of care at the Service Line. - Participates as reasonably requested in interviews and discussions with Partner Hospital's orthopedic candidates for recruitment to its medical staff. - Patient Experience/Satisfaction. - Review and evaluate patient, physician and staff satisfaction survey reports and key orthopedic outcomes metrics and make recommendations for improvement. - Assist Partner Hospital in its patient experience/patient satisfaction initiatives in the Service Line. - Provide advice and assistance for Partner Hospital's implementation of a case management program for the Service Line including discharge planning, appointment scheduling and arranging for appropriate follow up services and supplies as well as the establishment and implementation of a patient call back process that meets the Joint Commission Standards for Service Line patients. - Evaluate processes regarding preadmission patient communication and make recommendations to help ensure questions are answered and patient is prepared for procedure. - Strategic Management. Manager shall assist Partner Hospital in operating the Service Line by providing the following strategic management services. - Assist in the development and implementation of strategic, financial and operational plans with respect to the Service Line including development of capital and operating budgets with special consideration of new technology and services including management information systems. - Commencing with the second Contract Year, provide guidance, advice, and implementation support to Partner Hospital on improving coordination of care, including participation in meetings with referring physicians regarding access, coordination of care and satisfaction.

This position involves a great deal of patient contact as well as interaction with physicians of various specialties in the hospital.
