Program Assistant

Community Education & Outreach

 

Overview:

 

The Program Assistant will assist the Senior Director of Outreach & Partnerships with organizing and implementing health education programs targeting the general public and patients of Hospital for Special Surgery to educate them about the prevention and management of musculoskeletal conditions and other health and wellness related issues in alignment with the HSS Strategic Plan and community service plan. In addition, (s)he will provide customer service, assist with program registration and data entry, and assume other administrative duties for the department and division, as necessary.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of outreach programs, including workshops, lectures, screening programs and exercise classes:
  • Assist with registration process and day-of program logistics including registrations
  • Assist with community partner communications and logistics
  • Communicate with program faculty
  • Prepare program objectives and promotional copy (i.e. descriptions/social media, etc)
  • Prepare registration program pages, when applicable
  • Research and prepare presentation documents, if applicable
  • Prepare outcomes documents, including evaluations and reports
  • Assist with Community Partner Development, including:
  • Create a list of partners to contact
  • Collect community organization profiles

Maintain library of topics to present partners, based on member audience demographics

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college education highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Ability to travel to onsite programs in tri-state area, 5-10%
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, clinically oriented environment is a must
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills and ability to multi-task

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $25.00/Yr.
