Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise     Lab Information Systems (LIS) & Quality Assurance (QA) Manager Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine   Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking an experienced Lab Information Systems (LIS) professional to oversee multiple applications in our world-class labs.  The successful Manager, Informatics & Quality Assurance candidate will also be responsible for our Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) & Continuous Quality Improvement, and Corporate Compliance programs.    Responsibilities: - Performs all tasks related to Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System and HCLL Blood Bank Information System - Manages Data Innovations middleware and Lab interfaces with the EMR - Manages multiple LIS projects simultaneously - Prepares analytical reports for Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) & Continuous Quality Improvement, and Corporate Compliance - Assures NYS DOH & Joint Commission standards compliance - Serves as resource to all Lab employees and troubleshoots technological and operational issues - Trains employees on new procedures and technologies - Ensures Lab employees are observing appropriate policies and procedures and implements corrective action as necessary - Represents Lab and presents to quality committees - Demonstrates strengths in critical thinking, innovation, team leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration   Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree required - 6 years of Lab Information Systems (LIS) experience required (Epic anatomic & clinical pathology experience a plus) - Ability to prioritize issues, resolve conflicts, manage project plans and communicate with all levels of the organization - Superior oral, written and non-verbal communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships - Effective presentations skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change - Strong customer service orientation   Essential Qualifications - Degree in Medical Technology or a related science preferred - ASCP certification preferred - Lab Quality Assurance (QA) experience strongly preferred - Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused while meeting deadlines   Hospital for Special Surgery offers a unique work environment, diverse job types and extraordinary career opportunities. Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.   Lab Technologist Microbiology Full-Time 9am-5pm   As an integral member of our Laboratory team, the successful candidate performs blood tests and other body fluid tests using automated analyzers as well as manual methods to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.   Our core values center on respect, consideration, compassion for all individuals and maintaining awareness of diverse cultural and religious beliefs.  Your capacity to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and promote the highest standards of care and safety is critical to the mission of HSS.   Responsibilities - Under limited supervision, cultivates, isolates, and identifies bacterial or other microorganisms present in body fluids, exudates, skin scrapings, and surgical specimens. Performs various bacteriological, mycobacteriological and mycological tests to provide data on cause and progress of disease. - Performs all quality control and instrument check procedures and maintains all related records. - Prepare solutions and reagents used in all test, with particular attention to viability, lot number and expiration date of substance before using in the performance of tests. - Process stat specimens expeditiously. - Participate in the QA/PI process and improves performance based on results obtained from QI activities. - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams. - Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment. - Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital.   To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree, a degree in Medical Technology or a related science. ASCP certification preferred; NYS license-Clinical Laboratory Technologist required. The ability to work well in a team is also essential.
