This role will be 9 months in duration and will report directly to the Assistant Vice President. The role will allow for exposure to multiple aspects of HSS including leading clinicians, Information Technology, and analytics. External stakeholders will include foundations, think tanks, and health systems. Assists departmental leadership in collaborating with surgical and supply chain staff to maintain programs and processes designed to ensure compliance of service delivery standards. Acts as a liaison in effectively communicating with the surgical team and stakeholders. Assist in managing the flow of Arthroplasty, fracture management implants, and ancillary products including, but not limited to the following tasks.   Responsibilities:  - Assist in managing the flow of surgical supplies, utilizing electronic inventory systems. - Check inventory levels of surgical supplies in designated storage areas and report findings to the supervisor - Receive shipments of surgical supplies according to the vendor’s packing slip and report discrepancies to the supervisor - Place new shipments of surgical supplies in their designated storage area - Restock surgical supplies, according to established par levels - Dispose of all waste generated (primarily cardboard boxes) - Dispense implants and ancillary products to nurses on all perioperative units as required. - Check inventory levels on Space Saver and storage cabinets daily and generates requisitions for any needed implants or ancillary products. - Fill depleted implants sets as required. - Identify and request hardware (implants) that are needed to complete implant sets. Log that information on the “Incomplete Implant Trays Log Sheet” and review the logbook daily for timely completion of those sets. - Receive all Arthroplasty and hardware (implants) daily, log them onto their respective purchase requisition, and place them in appropriate implant set(s) or storage cabinet. Indicate back orders and notify the sales representative when they impact the future schedule. - Review the next day’s schedule when needed and notifies the appropriate sales representative. - Oversee the reception of loaner implant systems that are required for future cases. Identify loaner implants systems in temporary storage area that are not needed and arrange to have them removed. - Report to the operative suite to consult with the surgeon whenever their implant request is unclear. - Conduct daily inspection of dated implants and remove those that are nearing expiration date. - Assist in maintaining current implant tray count sheets. - Assist with the training of new Implant Technicians.
