Studies will include retrospective trials, outcomes trials, non-interventional trials and low risk interventional trials.   PROJECT TOPICS (non-exhaustive list) Peripheral nerve imaging techniques Brachial plexus imaging anatomy and pathology Imaging of nerve repair Shear wave elastography in the musculoskeletal system Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal intervention     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   - Manages data collection specific to research studies including but not limited to the performance of observational measurements for low risk studies, collection of clinical data from patients directly, and manage the performance of all other duties as put forth in the protocol. This includes the supervision of multidisciplinary teams involved in the successful conduct of the study. - Compiles and assists in final analyses of data in preparation for presentation (scientific society meetings, sponsor/regulatory agency) with guidance from the study investigator. - Prepare draft research manuscripts for publication, under the guidance of the study investigator. - Oversees and conducts the informed consent process on low risk studies (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training). - Spearhead efforts to meet patient enrollment targets related to independent research studies. To that end, develops and implements various recruitment strategies. - Under supervision from a clinical research coordinator or Sr. clinical research coordinator, manages and executes IRB submissions for initial approvals, reapprovals, amendments, etc ... Ensures timeliness and accuracy of submissions and no lapses in approvals for the study. - Assists the study investigator in departmental audits as well as external audits performed by representatives of the sponsor for each clinical research project they manage. Consults with HSS internal monitor for guidance on these activities. - Collaborates with research administration, as needed, to ensure that research subjects are treated in accordance with all mandated requirements. Ensures that standards regarding subject registration, protocol specific tests, and required documentation are adhered to. Reports deviations as appropriate and resolves issues when possible. Escalates issues to supervisor as needed. - Maintains and enhances professional growth through participation in seminars, professional affiliations, and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of research data management.   MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training:     1-2 years experience in clinical research       Bachelor's degree Experience:    Proficient use of computers and basic research software Scientific background with knowledge of orthopaedic and/or radiologic terminology is a plus.

Information Security Senior Risk Analyst   Job Summary The Information Security Risk Analyst is responsible for Cyber Security risk management, policies and education.  This individual is a member of the “Governance, Risk and Compliance” unit within the Cyber Security & Risk Management (CSRM) department. The candidate will ensure security and compliance with third party vendors, public and private clouds, provide oversight, and direction to ensure cyber risk and audit findings are managed and communicated.  This individual will assist in developing and maintaining the Business Continuity Planning and Security Awareness programs that are aligned with HSS and department objectives, HIPAA, NIST and organization’s risk profile.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  - Understand the opportunities and challenges facing business, mission, IT, and operational groups and be able to balance institutional risk with business and mission objectives. Design and implement mechanisms to monitor adherence to strategies and policies and take corrective action as needed. - Act as a SME for end to end management of findings for information security assessments for vendors, applications and biomedical devices.  Adhere to NIST Cyber Security Framework, HIPAA, Joint Commission. Meaningful use of audits and purple team/penetration/vulnerability assessment findings. - Assist in implementing HSS GRC tool. - Act as a SME for Cyber Security audits performed by external clients. - Maintain a formal risk register which drives security governance and ensures security funding is aligned with business objectives. - Develop Key Risk Indicators which highlight top cyber risks for the organization to executive management and the board and Key Performance Indicators that demonstrate success of the security program along with its alignment to NIST and industry best practices. - Work collaboratively with the other Managers, Directors, CMIO, CIO, Service Line Leads, Steering Committees and other key partners to manage Cyber Security risks. - Assist in developing and contributing to a formal next generation security education and awareness program that delivers role-based security education, is based on gamification concepts and leads to measurable improvement in building a risk aware culture at all levels. Create and deliver information security concepts in simple and engaging manner through newsletters, social media, blogs, video, new employee orientation, townhalls and in person. - Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) and other IT teams to define security, requirements, track issues and concerns, provide solutions, communicate identified vulnerabilities, and identify exceptions to policy. Our fellowship-trained radiologists are highly skilled in the interpretation of musculoskeletal ultrasound and routinely perform ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventional procedures. Our specialized technologists are uniquely trained in this high-volume musculoskeletal ultrasound practice. The Department focuses on both the imaging diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions/diseases and the treatment of specific conditions utilizing image guidance.   Position Summary   The Sonographer position requires an individual trained at an accredited sonography program to apply learned skills to outpatient and inpatient procedures/studies in a hospital department setting. All functions are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility, protocols, policies, and procedures, and applicable professional standards while ensuring the highest standards of safety for patients. The sonographer is also expected to properly store and maintain equipment, instruct patients on exams, and accurately log and document related information. Duties will include clinical evaluation of patients in the office, counseling patients and their families regarding proposed surgical procedures as well as addressing pre-and post-operative patient questions and concerns, and surgical first assist role in the operating room. There are no weekend shifts or overnight call, however, effective communication with the outpatient staff and inpatient hospital teams is essential. The PA will interact closely with office staff, other PAs, patients and families to be an integral part of providing a high level of clinical care and service.

This is a multidimensional role driving improved performance in the midst of a changing market and evolving physician models.   The Chief Administrator reports to the Vice President, Service Lines with dotted line responsibility to the Physician in Chief, Chief of Metabolic Bone and the Neurologist in Chief. This role will have regular interaction with the Chiefs as well as 77 physicians (40 adult and pediatric rheumatologists, 22 internists and hospitalists, 3 infectious disease physicians, 5 endocrinologists and metabolic bone physicians, 7 neurologists).  The position directly supervises two Senior Directors, Department of Medicine, four Managers of the Department of Medicine Centers of Excellence, the QA/PI Manager for the Department of Medicine, and the Administrative Director, Neurology.   The Service Lines Department is focused on strategically supporting the medical leadership of these Services. Collaborate with the Director of Perioperative Medicine to develop pre-surgical screening optimization programs.  - Continuing to advance the research and education goals of the services and improve the overall reputation of Rheumatology on the national stage. - Working closely with the Project Development, Planning, Design and Construction Department on renovation/relocation projects and new construction to support the growing needs of the Services, ensuring that new space is created to support the vision and goals of the Services.   - Creating and maintaining a highly effective and efficient infrastructure through the use of best practices and a continuous improvement mindset. - Assessing the governance structure and working with service leadership to put in place enhancements that will ensure the achievement of service goals. - As the Department of Medicine, Metabolic Bone and Neurology’s liaison to the organization, working with physicians, Nursing, Finance, Marketing and Public Relations, Development and other departments to provide resources and information about the division as needed. - Work collaboratively with counterparts at Weill Cornell Medicine to ensure that additional medical services (i.e. cardiology, psychiatry, neurology) are provided to HSS patients through Medical Service Agreements. - Modeling the basic values and principles of Hospital for Special Surgery.

Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise   Senior Laboratory Technologist – Chemistry/Hematology Day Shift 9am-5pm     As an integral member of our Laboratory team, the successful candidate performs blood tests and other body fluid tests using automated analyzers as well as manual methods to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.   Our core values center on respect, consideration, compassion for all individuals and maintaining awareness of diverse cultural and religious beliefs.  Your capacity to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and promote the highest standards of care and safety is critical to the mission of HSS.   Responsibilities - Identifies morphology of hematopoietic cells in various stages of development and other characteristics of cells, which may be related to disease processes, with understanding of the significance of the finding. - Performs all quality control and instrument check procedure and maintains all related records. - Performs all required procedures related to counting and identification of blood cells, coagulation studies, other hematologic procedures, and routine urinalysis using a variety of equipment. - Perform all required procedures related to enzymes and other chemical analytes using a variety of equipment including Vitros, blood gas analyzers, etc. - Prepare solutions and reagents used in all test, with particular attention to viability, lot number and expiration date of substance before using in the performance of tests. - Process stat specimens expeditiously. - Participate in the QA/PI process and improves performance based on results obtained from QI activities. - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams. - Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment. - Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital.
