Accounts Receivable Representative

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Accounts Receivable addresses the denied claims and follows up with insurance companies regarding unpaid claims. Once insurance has paid, patient responsibility is addressed with the patient. The goal of AR is to collect money payable for services provided.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews and processes correspondence from patients and insurance carriers.
- Insurance Follow-up with primary, secondary, and tertiary claims.
- Denial Management to include payer denials and denial solutions.
- Submitting appeals to carriers for reasons such as medical necessity and bundling
- Credit Balance Management to include reviewing and resolving payment application errors.
- Reviews and maintains unbilled charge reports, denial reports, and claim allocation reports.
- Annotates adjustments/updates to patient accounts.
- Performs other related duties as required.

- Reports to A/R Manager.

Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technician IV
Monday - Friday
Supporting the delivery of the highest quality of patient care, you will work in our state-of-the-art facilities. Your primary focus will be performing intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM), including somatosensory evoked potential, motor evoked potential and free-run EMG testing.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a resource and provide guidance to Technician I & II as necessary to assure acquisition of appropriate data collection and positive patient outcomes.
- Performs intraoperative somatosensory evoked potentials, motor evoked potentials and EMG monitoring, and works closely with anesthesiologist, surgeon, and monitoring neurologist.
- Completes all reading assignments and reviews anatomy, methods, and materials with a supervising senior technician.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment maintenance and electrical safety.
- Recommends completion of test procedure; respects patient's rights to refuse testing.
- Selects and applies appropriate electrodes for stimulating and recording.
- Prepares collected patient test data for interpretation by Medical Director at completion of test procedure or no later than in 24 hours as observed by a supervisor.
- Participate in department QA/PI program and improves performance based on results obtained from QI activities.
- Participate in Strategic Improvement Process activities as appropriate and requested including committee membership.

Mission:
Our mission is to provide an orthopedic post graduate academic training program designed to equip qualified pediatric nurse practitioners with the clinical skills and knowledge to provide high quality, evidence-based care to surgical and non-surgical pediatric orthopedic patients and advance the field of pediatric orthopedics.
Description:
A 12-month program at a large specialized musculoskeletal academic institution with an urban patient population, providing a wide -range of pediatric orthopedic conditions and experience with patients of diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and racial identities. The program is comprehensive and structured to include both clinical experiences led by one-on-one mentoring and didactic educational opportunities which will include participation in weekly academic conferences and lectures.
Goals of Program:
Upon completion of the program, the Nurse Practitioner will demonstrate advanced knowledge of pediatric orthopedic conditions, demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and advanced decision-making skills using the best available scientific evidence, integrate appropriate technologies for management of patient care, apply ethical and cultural competency in the healthcare setting, practice multidisciplinary collaboration and function as an independent provider. Competency and outcome assessment will be performed in the categories of professional development, practice-based knowledge and skill, self-reported outcomes, and financial measures.

Ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of patient care, you will provide support to our Magnet surgical team. Your duties will include: assisting physicians and nurses in surgery using best practices of sterile technique, assembling, maintaining and tracking surgical instruments and equipment; and inspecting all packaged items to ensure integrity. We'll also rely on you to conduct pre-op, intra-op and post-op surgical counts according to AORN standards and maintaining the integrity of the surgical field during procedures. Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Clinical (80%)
Support physician office visits and other clinical activities.
- Room patients, including preparation for exams, reviewing past medical history, and obtaining patient data.
- Assist with procedures, including but not limited to suture/staple removal, cast application and removal, EKG, venipuncture, and injections.
- Foster effective patient throughput.
Administrative (20%)
Support the Manager, Clinical Services in the management of the nursing staff.
- Daily schedule and staffing assignments (coordinating per diems, vacations, callouts, etc.).
- Physician room and dictation station assignments.
- Primary point of clinical contact onsite in absence of Manager, Clinical Services.
Support the Manager, Clinical Services in ensuring compliant and competent nursing practice for the site.
- Monitor par levels for supplies, ordering as needed.
- Check expiration dates of current supplies in the closet, medication buckets, and on all medications and vials.
- Check the automated external defibrillator (AED) daily and alert the Manager, Clinical Services when the battery needs to be changed.
- Complete temperature logs on medication and specimen refrigerator and freezer.

Assistant Director

Overview:
The Assistant Director is responsible for the operational, personnel, financial, and facilities management of HSS Westport. In collaboration with administrative and clinical leadership for the Connecticut Market, the Assistant Director also supports the execution and operations of strategic initiatives that align with HSS’ goals.
The Ambulatory Services team works to provide an exceptional patient, physician, and staff experience at HSS ambulatory sites. The team works collaboratively to ensure high quality care delivery consistent with the HSS brand, and partners with leaders from various departments throughout the enterprise.
Job Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Ensures the delivery of an exceptional patient, physician and staff experience. Reviews patient satisfaction, physician experience and employee engagement survey results and responds to complaints/concerns. Develops process improvement and action plans in response to systemic issues.
- Oversees daily operations and critical business functions for physician office visits, radiology exams, and procedures. Ensures new programs are optimally integrated into the site.
- Utilizes available data to make informed decisions on process and performance improvement.
- Strategizes on ways to enhance workflow and patient throughput. Monitors and evaluates implementation of best practices.
- Directs Assistant Clinical Manager and PAS Coordinator to ensure staff receives proper guidance and direction in providing optimal, efficient, and cost-effective patient care.
- Leads efforts to attain key goals related to session utilization, appointment access, and other KPIs.
- Collaborates with Service Line team to onboard new physicians and staff to the site.
Personnel Management
- Guides and directs the hiring, training, retention, discipline and termination of staff
- Ensures that annual performance evaluations are completed for all staff, that performance development plans are created and monitored when necessary, and that annual goals are established.
- Ensures that all staff complete mandatory education modules.
- Identifies opportunities for educational programs and in-services for staff and ensures staff competencies are maintained.
- Coordinates staff meetings and ensures that appropriate and relevant information is disseminated to staff through this and other forums including email.
- Meets weekly with management team and leads daily huddles; ensures follow through of meeting takeaways.
- Oversight includes direct supervision of Assistant, Clinical Manager, PAS Coordinator and indirect supervision of clinical support (nursing) and patient access staff.
Financial Management
- Prepares annual operating and capital budgets, initiates and maintains purchase orders, manages invoices, and monitors monthly expenses. Performs analysis to explain monthly budget variances.
Site Development and Facilities Management
- Serves as a critical member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the implementation of the site and renovations of existing space. The Assistant Director will be involved with all aspects of these initiatives, including but not limited to: clinical and operational programming, facility design and development, staffing, equipment and supply procurement, go-live implementation.
- Coordinates repairs/maintenance calls and tracks survey/review of items that require regular evaluation (i.e. fire extinguishers).
- Responsible for ensuring a clean and well-functioning physical plant environment; ensures required medical/administrative supplies, equipment, and furniture are available, in appropriate working order, and in the quantities required for the team.
