Manager, Clinical Research Education and Communications   The HSS Clinical Research Administration (CRA) provides centralized services to foster and ensure safe, compliant and scientifically valuable patient-oriented research. CRA provides support to facilitate all functions of clinical research from study design and conception through final contract, IRB approval, study execution, and closeout. The Manager for Clinical Research Education and Communications will work closely with the Director of Clinical Research Operations to create and facilitate educational and training programing for the HSS research community; and manage and drive communication initiatives that will engage internal and external stakeholders. This manager will be working on behalf of the CRA and the larger HSS Research Institute. Collaborators with a deep experience in clinical research and regulations, and has strong interest in education, online communications and social media are invited to apply. Applicants should have outstanding writing skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to outreach and collaborate. This manager’s responsibilities will fall within two interconnected areas:   Education and Training Development - Manage and create educational and training programming for clinical research and its operations with internal and external experts. - Ensure trainings cover skills, knowledge and behaviors relevant to the competency being trained. - Ensure materials and the information provided are accurate and consistent in delivery. - Provide regular review of training program to ensure that it continues to be relevant. - Facilitate onboarding and training of new research staff with their respective service line managers. - As a member of the SOP Committee, draft new standard operating procedures and policies with CRA, Corporate Compliance and Legal while pushing best practices forward through engagement and education to the wider HSS research community. - As a member of the Clinical Research Operations Quality Assurance team, provide expert clinical research knowledge to study teams who are preparing for monitoring/auditing visits or are rolling out new processes. - Provide excellent customer service and act as a clinical research professional role model. - Be an active member of the academic community at HSS through collaboration with other institutional stakeholders including the HSS Education Institute.   Communications Strategy and Implementation  - Support content development for Research Institute related communications across all platforms. - Develop communications strategy with Directors, Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer, and Communications & Marketing team. - Expand and maintain online educational hub (intranet) where shared institutional knowledge lives and is easily accessible to the HSS research community. - Draft content, develop storylines and assist with design of materials related to research, latest news and accomplishments. - Liaison between multiple partners such as the research community, investigators, Communications & Marketing, Development, and Education Institute on strategic initiatives and campaigns for patients, Board of Trustees and wider community. - Provide proactive support and maintain timelines for cross-departmental initiatives, programs and consultants.   Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in science related or communications related field - At least 3 years of clinical research experience - Thorough knowledge of clinical trial design, implementation and operations, regulatory processes, Good Clinical Practice, and Human Subject Protection guidelines. - Strong interest in health-and science-focused communications. - Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, with an understanding of audience and delivery. - Positive attitude and willingness to dig for answers. - Outstanding customer service skills. - Ability to efficiently organize, multi-task, and prioritize duties and tasks. - Strong to expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.   Preferred Qualifications - ACRP or SOCRA certification. - 1-2 years of education, professional development or related experience.

New Employee Orientation - Manages New Employee Orientation (NEO), including scheduling and setup tasks, day-of-event logistical support, updating materials and other assistance as needed. - Presents on eLearning at NEO and explains how to access the LMS. - Presents on eLearning at New Leadership Orientation and explains how managers can utilize the LMS. - Checks that all new hires are added to Saba, enrolled in correct modules, do not have duplicative e-mail accounts, and complete Orientation modules. As a key member of the Information Technology Department, the Epic Senior Analyst will attain/maintain specialized knowledge of our enterprise Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and serve as a vital liaison between the HSS IT Department, hospital departments, physician’s offices, and Epic representatives.   **This position requires the flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends during major implementation and support efforts**   Responsibilities - Configure the Hospital’s electronic medical record and additional applications. - Maintain Resolute Professional Billing/Claims and Remittance modules to send claims, process remittances, configure benefit engine, trigger charges, and work with external collection agencies. Build, test, and present to end-users and change control, and migrate build to production. - Support all end users on Epic EMR system, integrate Revenue Cycle processes such as maintaining claim scrubber and payment processor. - Responsible for system implementations, current system upgrades, and industry standard (transition from X12 4010 to 5010 format, ICD 9 to 10 upgrade, and implement new user workflows. - Support other IT department initiatives and projects. Use advanced knowledge of assigned Epic System software to collaborate on all aspects of the Epic Systems Claims and PB modules, as well as complimentary software mentioned above. - Use advanced knowledge of enterprise Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and serve as a vital liaison between the HSS IT Department, Professional Billing Office, Finance, billing vendors, collection agencies. - Conduct regular day-to-day communication, reviewing the software, demonstrating a deeper understanding of business operations, and working with Epic, other software vendors, HSS Operational Representatives/Subject Matter Experts, and end-users to tailor the systems to fit the organization's needs while maintaining data integrity. - Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues, develop and document the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with Epic and other applications. - Remain current on Epic technologies and obtain and maintain Epic certifications as warranted. - Provide on-site support during go-live and system upgrade scenarios. - Experience and ability to work in a ticket system effectively and efficiently. - Provide on-call support on a rotating basis - Identifies opportunities to improve existing processes and gives meaningful feedback to help the customer or team to improve. - Reviews and assesses the impact of changes and enhancements with each new Epic release and makes recommendations for best course of action.

Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise     Lab Information Systems (LIS) & Quality Assurance (QA) Manager Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine   Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking an experienced Lab Information Systems (LIS) professional to oversee multiple applications in our world-class labs.  The successful Manager, Informatics & Quality Assurance candidate will also be responsible for our Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) & Continuous Quality Improvement, and Corporate Compliance programs.    Responsibilities: - Performs all tasks related to Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System and HCLL Blood Bank Information System - Manages Data Innovations middleware and Lab interfaces with the EMR - Manages multiple LIS projects simultaneously - Prepares analytical reports for Laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) & Continuous Quality Improvement, and Corporate Compliance - Assures NYS DOH & Joint Commission standards compliance - Serves as resource to all Lab employees and troubleshoots technological and operational issues - Trains employees on new procedures and technologies - Ensures Lab employees are observing appropriate policies and procedures and implements corrective action as necessary - Represents Lab and presents to quality committees - Demonstrates strengths in critical thinking, innovation, team leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration   Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree required - 6 years of Lab Information Systems (LIS) experience required (Epic anatomic & clinical pathology experience a plus) - Ability to prioritize issues, resolve conflicts, manage project plans and communicate with all levels of the organization - Superior oral, written and non-verbal communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships - Effective presentations skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change - Strong customer service orientation   Essential Qualifications - Degree in Medical Technology or a related science preferred - ASCP certification preferred - Lab Quality Assurance (QA) experience strongly preferred - Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused while meeting deadlines   Hospital for Special Surgery offers a unique work environment, diverse job types and extraordinary career opportunities.
