Your scope of duties will include assisting the physician in treatments and procedures, rooming patients, overseeing patient flow, ordering all nursing supplies and stocking exam rooms. You will create and maintain medical protocols set in the office. Proficiency in patient vitals, BP, temperature venipuncture, proper cast removal, suture and staple removal a must. You must be extremely flexible.Your ability to promote the highest standards of patient safety and respond to patients and families with consideration and compassion is critical to the mission of HSS.   Minimum Requirments:   The successful candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing. Current CT State registration and license is required coupled with BLS certification required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are essential. Minimum one year acute or sub-acute care experience preferred.     Medical Assistant   Scope of Duties: - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (Registration, Radiology, Physician Practice Management, Physical Therapy) - Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for examinations, reviewing patient statuses and assisting in obtaining patient data. - Obtain PCR nasal swabs for pre-surgical patients - Support the Pre-Surgical Screening program by assisting nurses and obtaining vital signs, lab specimens (venipuncture) and EKG’s. - Preparing specimens for the lab and ensuring hand-off to courier - Foster efficient patient throughput, deliver excellent customer service, and establish and maintain an organized professional environment. - Assist the physician in treatments and procedures and ensure physician orders are completed in a timely manner. - Demonstrate proficiency in cast removal, suture and staple removal, and application of off the shelf braces. - Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers. - Participate in our supportive and team-oriented environment.   Minimum Requirements: - A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and be a Certified Medical Assistant - BLS Certification

The Director will also work closely with the Sr. Director of Finance (Regional & Florida), Sr. Vice President of Budget and Financial Forecasting, Chief Financial Officer, other members of Finance management, and senior leadership and management throughout HSS. The Directorwill assist in leading the financial operations of select HSS joint ventures as part of the regional expansion strategy. The Director will be expected to collaborate with various teams in Finance and Operations to ensure accurate accounting and forecasting as well as collaborating closely with the business lead of each venture or site to maximize profitability. The position will play a key role in the financial well-being of the institution by serving as an advisor to Senior Administration and management on relevant financial and business trends.     RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Develop an understanding of the hospital, its strategy and mission, its operations and finances, and its integrated strategic financial plan - Develop an extensive understanding of all joint ventures including their operations, finances, partners, and business terms - Take a leadership role in ambulatory surgery center finances in collaboration with the management teams to guide HSS Executive Leadership and investors on trends, business opportunities and issues, and assist in maximizing profitability and collaboration - Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate accounting for all entities and explain the drivers of financial performance - Collaborate with the budget team to develop key assumptions which ensure reasonable annual budgets - Collaborate with financial planning and operations teams to develop assumptions and five-year forecasts (Integrated Strategy Financial Plan) for current ventures and sites as well as expansion plans - Collaborate with strategic financial planning team on all expansion initiatives including business plans, term sheets, syndication, and funding strategy - Provide Senior Leadership with key performance indicators in collaboration with Finance, IT, and Operational Excellence to provide actionable data highlighting key metrics and trends for each entity and site - Stay current on developments in hospital/healthcare finance and broader industry dynamics; anticipate changes and their corresponding impact on the department/organization; provide strategic counsel and new thinking that adds value to the institution - Establish strong working relationships with financial leadership and colleagues, key personnel of interfacing departments, as well as other HSS departments and staff   EDUCATION: - A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or other relevant specialty is required. MBA or other advanced degrees are desirable, but not required. EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: - Solid experience (5+ years) of hospital finance / healthcare financial consulting experience is required. In this role, the OM would be the key administrator for Dr. Young’s practice. Dr. Young treats athletes of all ages. He has special expertise in treating tendinopathies of the upper and lower extremities, sports-overuse injuries, pediatric and adolescent sports injuries, sports-related concussions. and performing ultrasound-guided injections. The OM will provide comprehensive administrative support, oversee day-to-day operations and contribute to an environment of clinical excellence for the practice. Administrative Assistant, Academic Training Department   Overview: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President the Academic Training (AT) Administrative Assistant will have responsibility of helping to ensure smooth daily operation of the Academic Training office and providing assistance to the AT, Medical Library staff, residents, fellows, medical students and visitors.    Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Overall Operations of the Department - Answer and screen all phone calls in a professional manner, and direct to staff when necessary - Greet visitors and inform appropriate staff - Handle all mail: pick up, distribute, process fed ex forms, schedule pick-ups when requested - Manage the appearance of the Department offices - Manages the purchasing, receiving and inventory of office supplies (including resident and physician lounges) and maintain equipment for computers, fax, and copy machines (i.e., toners, paper, etc.) Manages purchasing utilizing GHX Procurement Suite - Issue appropriate purchase requisitions, check requests and petty cash vouchers for AT staff, resident and fellow activity and provide copies to Education and Academic Affairs Division - Maintain bookkeeping for resident and fellow annual incentives and education accounts - Issue check requests for vendor payments from operating accounts; make deposits into Academic Training special purpose fund accounts - Process payroll for AT, Medical Library staff, residents and fellows; complete personnel requisitions and personnel change forms when necessary.  Maintain AT and Medical Library staff’s schedule in Kronos - Assist with coordinating and tracking expenses for internal grants - Assist with preparation for programs and meetings as requested (arrange for catering/refreshments, room reservations, and maintain contact with vendors) - Work the Academic Training staff on all departmental and social events, i.e., Staff meetings, Welcome Reception, Graduation, Orientation, Golf & Tennis, Skating Party, etc. - Assist AT staff with copying and distribution of departmental reports, records and mailings; assist with special projects as requested - Assist with onboarding AT staff, residents, fellows – IT requests, ID badges and order lab coats - Perform administrative duties, including typing, filing, data entry and special projects - Assist with Education and Academic Affairs Institute wide initiatives as requested Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; Type 45-60 wpm; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrate initiative, as well as an aptitude for problem solving   Preferred: Associates Degree and minimum 2 years administrative experience in administration and/or office management in an academic health care setting preferred.

The Library Assistant primarily supports Document Delivery Services, performing a variety of tasks depending on client request volume and priorities. Tasks may include electronic request processing, scanning documents, and re-shelving materials.   Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Provide the highest level of customer service to all members of the HSS staff, residents, fellows, medical students, and visitors. - Acts as a User Services team member, providing consultation services at the library desk answering in-person directional questions, as well as queries received by email or phone. - Escalates research questions and in-depth searches to the Medical Librarian and records client interactions. - Helps with upkeep of library including database management, shelf reading, library website maintenance. - Will cover the front desk independently. - Other duties as assigned in support of the library’s function.   Preferred Qualifications: - Enrolled in ALA-accredited MLS program. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Content management or electronic document management systems. - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, outgoing personality with a desire to provide excellent customer service, adaptable to a changing work environment and departmental priorities, and familiar with online searching. - Must be comfortable providing customer service both in person and on the phone.   Hours:  14 Hours per week between Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Must be able to work onsite at least one day a week.

Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.   Administrative Assistant   The Administrative Assistant for Education Institute will be responsible for providing front and back-office support to the Education Institute and administrative support, including the scheduling of meetings, data entry, financial/payroll tasks and calendar management.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to:   Calendar Management - Scheduling meetings for AVP and other related staff - Serve as backup for SVP/VP calendar management Administrative - Meet and greet all guest/visitors; notify appropriate staff of their arrival - Answer and triage front desk phone; take complete messages and distribute accordingly - Maintain cleanliness of office (waiting room, staff refrigerator, hallway, microwave, storage room & maintain Konica printer and supplies) - Ensure office and EI staff have adequate office supplies - Report any/all issues to Environmental Services and schedule monthly exterminations - Post job descriptions for internships on Handshake/create certificate of completion for interns - Support AVP, Education Institute and Administrative Manager w/ special projects and assignments - Data entry for EI Financial Database to assist w/ monthly reports and - Assist w/ miscellaneous requests from EI Staff Payroll/Finance - Management of payroll approval via Kronos - Create all deposits for cashier (income/deposits for various EI department deposits) - Assist w/ check requests, petty cash & Instructor payroll entries - Deliver/receive mail, cashier deposits including FedEx Community Education & Outreach (CEO) - Complete registrations for all exercise programs and manage program payment deposits - Track reach data for all CEO Programs (workshops, lectures, exercise classes, live webinars, and videos) - Data entry - Other related duties Job Requirements: - Associates Degree - 2-4 years’ experience in an administrative role - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel, PowerPoint - Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and detail oriented - Professional demeanor - Excellent customer service
