An operator of the microcomputed tomography (micro-CT) is a highly skilled professional who uses specialized micro-CT equipment. The role will involve coordination and collaboration with researchers to prepare and conduct imaging experiments on a wide range of samples and projects.
Duties:
- Obtaining or helping users troubleshooting imaging and initial image processing

JOB SUMMARY:
The Ayturk Lab at the Hospital for Special Surgery Research Institute is seeking a postbaccelaurate fellow to study muscle-resident stromal cells associated with fracture repair and heterotopic ossification. The successful candidate will work on existing animal models of bone healing and ectopic mineralization, for the purposes of lineage tracing, functional manipulation and in-depth cellular characterization. The fellow will report directly to Dr. Ayturk. He/she will meet with the PI on a weekly basis to discuss experimental plans and progress. He/she will be expected to participate in other projects ongoing in the laboratory as necessary, and contribute to disseminating findings through authoring peer-reviewed publications and presentations at scientific conferences.
High level of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Ideal candidates must have good written/oral communication skills in English.

Overview:
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking to hire a part time Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) for a Manhattan Rehabilitation Centers. The opportunity is for 24 hours per week. The candidate’s primary role is to provide medical and therapeutic massage to the following populations: pre/post orthopedic surgery; athletes recovering from injury as well as improving performance; non-operative orthopedic conditions commonly seen in a rehabilitation center.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an academic setting and collaborating with a staff of physical therapists and exercise physiologists. The candidate will be afforded optional opportunities for attending education conferences and participating in community outreach.

Working under the supervision of one our prominent MD’s, you will provide the upmost deliverance of patient care in the physician’s office setting.
Scope of duties will include:
- Assisting the physician in treatments and procedures
- Proficiency in obtaining vital signs, height and weight, venipuncture, cast removal, suture and staple removal and application of off-the-shelf braces
- Rooming patients
- Overseeing patient flow
- Stocking exam rooms
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- Current NY State LPN License and Registration
- BLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of Ambulatory Clinic, Physician’s Office or Hospital setting
- Experience with EMR preferably EPIC
- Excellent customer service and communication skills to all customers including patients, physicians, fellow co-workers, etc.

Senior Development Associate

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:
The Senior Development Associate is a key member of a dynamic fundraising team for the nation’s leading orthopedics and rheumatology academic medical center. Working closely with the Assistant Vice President, Development and other senior leaders in the Development Department, the Sr. Associate will provide critical support for all aspects of their work including the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects, and assisting in the planning and execution of meetings and small events. The Sr. Associate supports the full range of the fundraising process by arranging appointments and meetings; assisting with mailings; collaborating on written materials including briefings, proposals, and acknowledgements; researching prospects and donors; and updating prospect/donor activity in the departmental database. The position will get exposure to executives and teams across the organization, helping to drive and support the strategic priorities of the Development Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster critical relationships established by AVP, Development with key internal and external stakeholders and their assistants, including the HSS medical leadership team, physicians, and foremost benefactors.
- Help draft compelling correspondence to donors and prospects, including proposals, stewardship reports, and personalized acknowledgement letters.
- Assist the AVP, Development with the cultivation and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals by ensuring all information is captured in the departmental database and next steps are tracked.
- Create systems for tracking progress with donors and prospects to reflect progress of the relationship and progress toward securing gifts.
- Assist with researching potential donors in collaboration with the Research Team.
- Assist in the planning and execution of donor meetings and events, which includes scheduling, coordinating logistics with the special events team and preparing briefing materials and remarks for volunteer leadership, senior administrators, and physicians, etc.
- Gain understanding of the department’s goals and vision, and how they relate to the overall organization and mission of HSS.
- Perform additional related duties as required.

MRI Technologist

Tuesday-Friday 12:00pm to 8:30pm, Saturday 8:00-4:30pm
Overview:
Supporting the delivery of the highest quality of patient care, you will work in our state-of-the-art imaging facilities. Your primary focus will be to operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients of all age categories. This will entail MRI examinations using GE equipment, while ensuring the highest standards of safety for patients. We will also rely on you to properly store and maintain equipment, instruct patients on exams, and accurately log and document related information.
