Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise   Clinical Research Coordinator   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Integrated in the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM), the Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with a Sports Medicine physician (Principal Investigator) and will directly report to the Research Director of the HSS Center for Regenerative Medicine.   Responsible for all aspects of clinical research studies including but not limited to, screening and enrolling patients following inclusion/exclusion criteria, collecting biospecimens both in the office setting and the OR, data management activities while assuring compliance with protocols and ICH GCPs, assisting with protocol development, submitting new and continuing review to the IRB, and coordinating clinical and lab activities to integrate all protocol activities. The CRC will be in compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements; participate in all aspects of research management and quality assurance of data for the Principal Investigator.   The successful applicant for the position of Clinical Research Coordinator will be a highly motivated and organized individual who is able to perform a variety of different tasks essential to the implementation and successful completion of a clinical study. He or she should be knowledgeable of regulations regarding Human Subjects research and assure HIPAA compliance. The applicant must be able to multitask and prioritize research projects.   A qualified candidate will have the ability to communicate in an effective manner with management, clinical staff, external sponsors and patients at HSS. The candidate will also have good interpersonal and writing skills, as he or she will interface directly with patients and medical staff on a routine basis. He or she will be flexible, as the job description may evolve as studies progress. The applicant must be available on site at the main hospital.   Clinical and Regulatory responsibilities:   - Oversees and conducts the informed consent process on studies as appropriate (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training).     - Manages data collection specific to research studies including but not limited to the performance of measurements for applicable studies, collection of clinical data from patients directly, and manages the performance of all other duties as put forth in the protocol.  This includes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams involved in the successful initiation and conduct of clinical research studies and clinical trials (clinical research administration, legal, finance, compliance, etc.). - Spearheads efforts to meet patient enrollment targets related to independent research studies. To that end, develops and implements various recruitment strategies.  - Ensures subject research visits and follow-ups are scheduled within the protocol specified time frame and that all required assessments and procedures are performed per the protocol. This requires coordination with both the research subject, either by phone, email, or mail per compliance and with physician office staff and ancillary departments. - Manages and executes IRB submissions for initial approvals, re-approvals, amendments, etc. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of submissions and no lapses in approvals for the study. - Coordinates with Principal Investigator, ancillary department, central research administration, and compliance office to help ensure that clinical research and related activities are performed in accordance with federal and HSS regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. - Performs advanced data queries when needed. Provides timely reports to Institutional Review Board, Principal Investigator, Research Director, National Institutes of Health and/or sponsor for each research project. - Participates in the development of new protocols, prospective databases and new initiatives. This may include independent design of databases and tools to facilitate data collection as required for specific projects (calendars, schedules, tracking logs). - Collaborates with the research team and research administration, as needed, to ensure that research subjects are treated in accordance with all mandated requirements.  Ensures that standards regarding subject registration, protocol specific tests, and required documentation are adhered to.  Reports deviations as appropriate and resolves issues when possible.  Escalates issues to supervisor as needed - Assists in collecting, transporting, processing, and storing biospecimens such as blood obtained from research patients to the lab. Knowledge of good clinical practice for the handling of specimens and blood is preferred. - Maintains and enhances professional growth through participation in seminars, professional affiliations, and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of clinical research and regenerative medicine.   MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training:   - Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred - ACRP, SOCRA, or similar certification preferred Experience:                 - 3-5 years experience in clinical research - Deep knowledge of FDA regulations for clinical trials - Strong organizational and problem solving skills, attention to detail, as well as excellent written and communication skills are essential - Proficient use of computers and software - Familiar with electronic data capture platforms such as RedCap and EMRs platforms (Epic). - Knowledge of Orthopaedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is preferred but not required.

Ultimately, the study aims to identify knee osteoarthritis (OA) patient subtypes and PRP constituents with prognostic and functional significance.   POSITION SUMMARY: The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, as part of the HSS Center for Regenerative Medicine, and will conduct experiments involving integration of clinical outcomes with multi-omics analyses of clinical samples and in vitro models. Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field. Candidates are expected to have at least one peer-reviewed high quality first author publication and should be highly motivated and productive. Good written/oral communication skills in English, and expertise in flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, protein analysis methods, bioinformatics analyses and data mining, and cell culture in vitro models, are highly desirable. In collaboration with the PI and/or research team, this candidate may also interact with numerous Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Device Manufacturer and Clinical Research Organizations.   Reporting into the Executive Director for Clinical Research, the Program Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive support including financial management for multiple research programs with Service Lines assigned to that Manager. The candidate will standardize and automate systems supporting Research Administration best practices including Lawson’s Grants Management and the implementation of a CTMS system.   Duties and Responsibilities: Support includes assistance with Clinical Research study start up, portfolio management and study termination by:    - Reviewing and interpret clinical trial protocols/studies for regulatory and budgeting/billing compliance purposes - Working with assigned Service Line research staff to create study specific budgets for new protocols - Work with research team to effectively communicate non-standard care services for each protocol and assisting with creation of billing grid templates - Accurately cost industry, in-house, and government sponsored trials with ancillary departments and hospital finance - Collaborate with the Contracts Administrator to vet and finalize relevant CDAs and CTAs - Keep a current understanding of FDA and CMS guidelines for clinical trial billing (Qualifying Clinical Trial (QCT) and Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) - Work closely with Sponsored Research on Federal, State and/or Foundation sponsored clinical research grants - Assure IRB approval and ICF is consistent with budget, coverage analysis and agreement before finalizing documents and communicate with IRB Administration - Work with Clinical Research Administrator to create study records and billing calendars in EPIC and assist with creating study and billing calendars in CTMS - Assurance that QCTs are identified and set up as such in Epic, E-CAP and Wellspring and that billing is performed in compliance with applicable regulations and payor requirements - Assist with the internal cost center/account set up and monitoring of the account - Review and develop applicable financial reporting metrics - Monitor GM/CTMS of existing protocols with payment schedules, dollars received, dollars outstanding and amendments - Review invoices as required by various study sponsors and in collaboration with Research Accounting manage collection of all outstanding receivables including milestone management - Work with and assist Investigators, administrators, and research teams with the allocation of personnel costs during the quarterly offset process and process applicable personnel change forms Other special projects as necessary including presentations to leadership, chairing and/or co-chairing relevant meetings, participate in hospital and research committees; produce various metrics report to improve operations, attend service line retreats, etc.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in related area; Master’s degree preferred. - Proven ability to provide clinical expertise in all phases of clinical research trials. - Two + years’ experience in clinical research as a coordinator - Thorough understanding of research guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in an academic environment. - Thorough knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements related to use of human subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, IRB, etc. - Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas. - Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research including QCT/MCAs. - Ability to independently interpret, analyze, and implement appropriate policies in a given situation. - Skill in prioritizing a high volume workload to ensure priorities and other deadlines are met. Demonstrated ability to work in pressure situations to meet deadlines and accommodate interruptions. - Proven ability to assess and contribute to development of automated systems to facilitate award administration. Demonstrated skill in setting up and maintaining accurate filing systems. - Experience applying programmatic knowledge to coordinate financial aspects of award administration. - Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional attitude during interaction and collaboration with a wide range of personalities. We'll also rely on you to conduct pre-op, intra-op and post-op surgical counts according to AORN standards and maintaining the integrity of the surgical field during procedures. Your capacity to collaborate with your team to promote the highest standards of patient safety is critical to the mission of HSS.   The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with certification NBSTSA.   A minimum of one year experience as a certified Surgical Technologist is also required. As the demand for services at HSS continues to grow, HSS is seeking a dynamic individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The Director will develop, implement, and lead the operational activation plans for opening new HSS facilities. The importance of transition planning and facility activation cannot be overstated. Opening an HSS facility is a complex process, with just one shot to get things right. It takes a diverse set of stakeholders—from front-line staff to construction managers—working together to open effective facilities for caregivers to deliver exceptional patient care. Reporting directly to the AVP, Project Development, Planning, Design, and Construction, the Director will be responsible for the following areas: Key Responsibilities: - Act in a key leadership role to develop and manage the transition from facilities construction to the teams who will operate new sites; the Directors critical responsibility includes directing teams to ensure smooth and efficient opening of all new HSS facilities. - Act as the primary liaison between the HSS Design & Deployment teams for all new HSS sites - Develop systems and processes to standardize approach to opening new HSS sites including employee engagement, communication plan, budget, success metrics, milestone reporting and dashboards, risk / issue log and reporting, and executive dashboards, go live command center support, opening events, alignment with construction, etc. - Partner with HSS leadership across various departments to ensure planning elements are not siloed, but centrally tracked and integrated to ensure alignment across all activity schedules; own the master schedule for each new strategic facilities site - Creates communication plan and engages with all stakeholders on a regular basis to inform, engage, and provide updates on upcoming go live activities. Provides updates to leadership teams on risks, accomplishments, issues and mitigation plans. - With growth in scope and responsibilities, evaluate the need for additional Facilities Activation and Transition Planning personnel, establish their scope and responsibilities, and hire and manage this team Example projects: - Partner with HSS leadership across various departments to build consensus around the intra- and interdepartmental workflows around transforming HSS’s Main Campus including construction milestones, IT decisions and implementation, education and training, recruitment, supply and equipment placement, cleaning, move planning, and others. This transformation includes opening the new 100,000 SF HSS Kellen Tower over the FDR Drive in Manhattan as well as several parallel renovations in existing facilities required to support an efficient and seamless patient journey at HSS’s Main Campus - Partner closely with the Regional Markets and other HSS leadership to direct planning and execution of new outpatient centers with multiple modalities of musculoskeletal care including physician practices, imaging, and rehabilitation; ensuring a smooth transition to these operational teams post-opening
