Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise   Manager of Biologics Operations  (Center for Regenerative Medicine) Full-Time   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Integrated in the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM), the Manager of Research and Operations for Biologics will work closely with physicians from a broad range of specialties and will directly report to the Director of Research & Operations of the HSS Center for Regenerative Medicine, and have a dotted line to the Supply Chain Sr. Director of Orthopedics Strategic Sourcing for alignment on value analysis processes and contract management. Responsible for coordinating the overall operations of the Biologics Committee to bring new biologics products to HSS, the Administrator will ensure an efficient process for approval and if needed, retrieval, of products that physicians use on daily basis to perform Regenerative Medicine procedures.   The successful applicant for the position of Manager of Research and Operations for Biologics will be a highly organized and motivated individual who is able to perform a variety of different tasks essential to the implementation and successful completion of a review process. The Manager will act as liaison between physicians, external companies, Service Lines, Research, and IT teams. He or she should be knowledgeable of regulations regarding Human Subjects research, FDA review process for IND/IDE/BLA, and assure HIPAA compliance, and be familiar with products such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), bone grafting materials, biological devices, and other types of biologics. The applicant must be able to multitask and prioritize initiatives.   Main responsibilities: - Organizes Biologics Committee Meetings with physicians and external companies looking to bring a new product to the HSS inventory, and takes meeting minutes. - Communicates with and organizes the different workgroups within the Biologics Committee (e.g. bone grafting products workgroup; soft tissue biological implants workgroup; autologous preparations workgroup, clinical review panel for RCTs, etc.) and assists defining pathways to establish pre-review processes. - Works with CRM Director of Research and Operations to manage a Biologics Registry to capture all products under “conditional approval” and updates periodically. Maintains registry in the long term to also capture all products that received final approval and that are still undergoing post-approval surveillance phase. - Oversees and conducts the patient informed consent process on studies as appropriate (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training).      - Assures patient outcomes and safety data is being captured for all products under “conditional approval” in a centralized and compliant way.  - Tracks utilization and financial impact of all active products under “conditional approval” and ensures physicians report back to Committee with preliminary cost-effectiveness data before final approval is granted by Committee. - Sends out communications with action plans and approval documents. - Works with Supply Chain Management to ensure that biologics new product requests follow the appropriate policies and procedures around the intake submission, cross-functional team coordination, and project tracking lifecycle management. - Assists physician and physician staff with GHX Lumere new product request application project submissions, follow up and user training as needed - Assists physician and physician staff with product evaluation tasks including scheduling, drafting questionnaires, coordinating in-service tasks and organizing post evaluation feedback surveys - Works with IT to develop tools to track product utilization, inventory, and automate the collection of cost-effectiveness data in the EMR (Epic). - Performs post-approval surveillance review for all the recently approved inventory (2 years) and creates reports with volume, safety, efficiency, and financial data for Committee review. - Facilitates and coordinates the process of retrieval and disposal of products that do not obtain final approval after the conditional approval phase, or that fail to maintain the highest cost-effectiveness standards throughout the post-approval surveillance phase.

The candidate will play an integral role in day-to-day research activities, patient coordination, and ensuring efficient operations.   RESPONSIBILITIES: (50% industry related study tasks, 25% research related quality assurance, 15% study coordination, 10% administrative support)   Industry: - Serves as a liaison between HSS investigators and industry agencies and thought partners - The Research Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and execution of comprehensive workflows and project tracking processes, ensuring compliance in clinical trials across all industry related studies for the ARJR service. - This role will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, fostering process improvement and emphasizing training clarity while maintaining high ethical standards - Effectively oversee all elements of research trials within the designated study protocol including but not limited to contracting, budget, and milestone reporting. - Formulate and establish workflows, protocols, and recommendations for staff and patients, ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards - Assist the Clinical Lead and/or Study Director in the planning and implementation, execution, day-to-day managing and reporting of clinical trial program(s) - Collaborate with clinical operations to develop and implement the overall data quality plan, - investigator meetings, safety review committee, pre-study site selection visits, and communications to study sites, etc) Research QA: - Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of research data, creating and implementing quality assurance procedures, and conducting internal audits to identify areas for improvement - Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and internal quality standards to maintain the integrity and reliability of clinical trial data and ensure patient safety - Continuously improve quality systems and processes within the organization - Conduct Audits: Plan and execute comprehensive audits of clinical trials. The Moore Lab focuses on improving recovery from orthopedic soft tissue injuries using biomaterials and drug delivery approaches.   The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team of surgeons, scientists and engineers, in a project aiming to develop of biomaterials to modulate pro-fibrotic signaling after musculoskeletal injuries.   Qualified candidates must have a recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, materials science, chemistry, molecular and cellular biology or a related field. Preferences will be given to candidates with expertise in biomaterials synthesis, modification and characterization. Candidates are expected to have at least one peer-reviewed high quality first author publication and should be highly motivated and productive.
