Through prioritizing safety, quality, and adaptability, the Manager plays a significant role in fostering an environment where exemplary patient-centered care and a robust sense of interprofessional teamwork take precedence. Additionally, the role supports alignment amongst leadership and frontline staff, ensuring optimal patient flow, safety, and a cohesive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and heard. The Specialist supports organizational quality and patient safety priorities by identification, development, implementation and assessment of clinical quality and patient safety improvement initiatives. The specialist supports HRO initiatives including the ongoing readiness program and tracer activities in compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies. The Specialist acts as a subject matter liaison to hospital departments/service lines to provide guidance on performance improvement activities through the identification of opportunities for improvement, seeking solutions, and establish monitoring and evaluating strategies. Works in collaboration with all staff including administration, physicians/clinicians, and allied health to support the quality, patient safety, and performance improvement process. Other responsibilities may include facilitating data collections to include coordinating publicly reported quality measures, working with federal payment linked quality programs or event reporting to the New York State. Supports the physician quality program. The AVP is a critical member of HSS's Patient Care Services and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of all aspects of the clinical operations of Paramus, Long Island and HSS NY Regional Markets portfolio, including the East Side and West Side ASC's. This key leadership role will advance the organization's strategic objectives by ensuring clinically excellent performance across all HSS's Regional Markets locations, preparing and sustaining a clinically competent workforce that will meet HSS goals for quality, patient satisfaction, and overall excellence, and supporting growth and expansion initiatives. Critically important is the expectation that this key leader will create and maintain a culture of service, accountability and peer to peer support.   This leader will also ensure strong linkages between the Regional Ambulatory Surgery Centers teams and HSS Main Campus, to facilitate a culture throughout HSS.   The AVP understands the Magnet Program and culture; and integration of Magnet standards into the nursing department infrastructure. The AVP supports the shared governance model; maintains active engagement, facilitates site involvement in shared governance and enterprise wide committees to ensure ASC representation.   The AVP provides clinical leadership to nurses in the perioperative, intraoperative, postoperative, settings. The AVP will be highly collaborative and have the ability to effectively communicate and interact directly with all staff to create partnerships and relationships across all the entities in the HSS Regional Markets. With regard to the sites, the AVP must be able to work effectively with leadership and staff from main campus and site leadership to engender a positive culture within which the Collaborative will thrive.
