The goal of our current research is to determine the role of crucial developmental signaling pathways, and crosstalk between these pathways in regulating the growth and maturation of postnatal intervertebral disc. The research will employ novel genetic mouse models, organ culture systems, and surgical pre-clinical rodent model systems and multi-omics analysis. The long-term goal of the research program is to identify biological approaches for disc therapy and treatment of disc related disorders like chronic lower back pain.   Candidate having a recent Ph.D. degree in Developmental Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology or Biochemistry will be desirable. Expertise in mouse genetics, microscopy, gold-stand techniques of cell and molecular biology, data science and computational biology and writing skills is required. First author peer-reviewed publications are required. Postdocs will be eligible for a Postdoctoral position in the Weill Cornell Medical College. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Design and execute experimental procedures/protocols in research involving cell and molecular biology techniques, tissue culture, histology and immunological assay, polarizing and fluorescence microscopy, and animal model system. - Collecting, analyzing and reporting on experimental data to the Principal Investigator on a timely manner. - Maintain accurate and detailed records and databases of all laboratory work and experiments. - Apply standard scientific protocols to experiments, research and improve current methods, and develop, set-up, and verify new procedures in the laboratory. - Standardize and establish new published procedures; evaluate innovative techniques. Develop new assays and new protocols for research. - Maintain optimal protocol and assay accuracy by conducting regular quality and reproducibility checks. - Timely compile, present and discuss relevant insights about experimental results with Principal Investigator. - Troubleshoot and correct erroneous results or problems with laboratory equipment. - Maintain and monitor proper use of laboratory equipment by personnel. - Draft, write, and edit scientific papers, journal articles, abstracts and progress reports related to the work. - Maintain an integral role in the laboratory's meetings, departmental seminars, presentations, and publications. - Organization, and recording of research material inventory, and placing order for research reagent in a timely manner - Completion of all trainings related to work in a timely manner, including C14, animal usage, handling hazardous material, laboratory safety. - Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency.

These include, but are not limited to contract or enrollment issues impacting billing/reimbursement, administrative issues impacting operations, and communication with key stakeholders. This position provides oversight to Managed Care Coordinators and serves as a liaison to the hospital and PHO Payor Contracting teams.   RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversees compliance of managed care companies and payment rules with negotiated contracts. - Works closely with other members of the Account Management team, CCS team (i.e. UM/clinical denials team) and Patient Financial Services and/or the Central Billing Office to identify trends and opportunities in outstanding Accounts Receivables for both the PHO and hospital entities. - Responsible for ensuring pertinent reports and updates (i.e. A/R, denials, etc.) are disseminated to departmental staff. This includes working with Patient Financial Services and other departments on the implementation and maintenance of departmental dashboard - Escalates issues as necessary to mid-level payer contacts for resolution as well as HSS contracting team. Recommends escalation as appropriate to senior management. - Provides feedback on trends/patterned issues to Contracting team to aid in negotiation and implementation of fee-for-service and value-based payor contracts across HSS and PHO - Assesses contract administrative terms and advises leadership accordingly on measures of contract performance - Ensures key stakeholders are communicated to on contractual obligations, emerging trends stemming from contract performance, payor/policy changes, and other related topics - Maintains up to date knowledge on the healthcare market and timely initiatives - Advise on/implement departmental policies, protocols and systems (i.e. Salesforce) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of workflows - Possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate capability to inspire staff to pursue excellence in goals and productivity; capable of coaching and improving staff in need of professional development. Duties and Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: - Initiates and coordinates the acquisition and receipt of enrollment/credentialing documentation from new and existing providers; provides follow-up and problem resolution as required.   - Coordinates the processing, distribution, and management of all credentialing and accreditation documents for affected providers.   - Collaborates with internal departments (Patient Access, Medical Staff, Physician Practice Management etc.) to ensure smooth on-boarding of providers into HSS PHO - Assist in the maintenance of accuracy and completeness of internal credentialing database (Cactus). - Review payer plan applications returned to department for accuracy and completeness, troubleshooting as needed.   - Plan, implement and maintain delegated credentialing processes/status with insurance companies. - Assist in ensuring that provider participation in the payer plans and CAQH is current, accurate and up to date.   - Assist with for inputting credentialing information into the departmental credentialing system, as necessary to support the Credentialing process.   - Must actively process forms, requesting payer applications, maintaining file system, following up on issues and troubleshooting problems.   - Maintains and ensures strict confidentiality of files and databases.   - Other duties as assigned.

The center consists of a waiting/registration area, 10 pre-anesthesia holding rooms, 2 isolation pre-anesthesia holding room, 9 operative suites, a 17 bay/bed Acute Post Anesthesia Care Unit, which includes 15 beds, 2 isolation rooms, and a Sub Acute Post Anesthesia Care Unit which includes 8 recliners.  Support areas include a patient nourishment station, a physical therapy room, 2 physician consultation rooms, Surgeon dictation room, anesthesia work room, a decontamination area, a dedicated “dirty” elevator to central supply and the fourth floor operating rooms, a dedicated “clean” elevator to central supply and the fourth floor operating rooms, 2 staff locker rooms and a staff lounge.    Responsibilities - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in a clinical setting - Collect comprehensive data on patients’ health (from patients and/or family members); Analyze data to determine needs & develop individualized care plans; update care plans based on progression and pathway as well as manage care delivery - Ensure that all physician orders are carried out appropriately and timely; work collaboratively with ancillary staff, including Patient Care Assistants - Integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes - Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers - Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment - Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED     As an integral member of our Magnet Nursing team, the successful RN candidate will be focused on – patient advocacy and delivering the highest quality of care to our patients!  Working in an evidence-based nursing environment that commands excellence every day, you will provide comprehensive peri-operative nursing care to our patients and their families in this acute care setting.  Our core values center on respect, consideration, compassion for all individuals and maintaining awareness of diverse cultural and religious beliefs.  Your capacity to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and promote the highest standards of care and safety is critical to the mission of Nursing in HSS.   The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASC) is located on the ninth floor of the main hospital building. The center consists of a waiting/registration area, 10 pre-anesthesia holding rooms, 2 isolation pre-anesthesia holding room, 9 soon to be 10  operative suites, a 17 bay/bed Acute Post Anesthesia Care Unit, which includes 15 beds, 2 isolation rooms, and a Sub Acute Post Anesthesia Care Unit which includes 8 recliners.  Support areas include a patient nourishment station, a physical therapy room, 2 physician consultation rooms, Surgeon dictation room, anesthesia work room, a decontamination area, a dedicated “dirty” elevator to central supply and the fourth floor operating rooms, a dedicated “clean” elevator to central supply and the fourth floor operating rooms, 2 staff locker rooms and a staff lounge.    Responsibilities - Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in a clinical setting - Collect comprehensive data on patients’ health (from patients and/or family members); Analyze data to determine needs & develop individualized care plans; update care plans based on progression and pathway as well as manage care delivery - Ensure that all physician orders are carried out appropriately and timely; work collaboratively with ancillary staff, including Patient Care Assistants - Integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes - Maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers - Promote a supportive and team-oriented environment - Support departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital
