A bachelor’s level engineer with at least two years of experience in industry or in a research laboratory will also be considered. The position involves participating in translational research projects through computational models employing finite element methods to quantify the factors that drive contact mechanics across joints like the knee. We are looking for an individual with the following character traits, abilities, and skills: - Interest in musculoskeletal research with applications in the joint mechanics and kinematics. - Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams that include surgeons, radiologists, engineers, statisticians, and biologists. - Familiarity with software tools (e.g., MIMICS, MeshLab) for image processing and 3D reconstruction of medical image data from MRI and CT. - Familiarity with reverse engineering software tools (e.g., Geomagic Design X, Studio, Wrap) - Experience with software required to create and run finite element models (e.g., ABAQUS, Truegrid, FEBio). - Coding experience using Python language (especially within ABAQUS). - Experience validating computational models with data collected from physical experiments. - Experience in technical writing for documenting experimental procedures and for disseminating results in peer-reviewed journal publications. - Experience in presenting work orally and visually to both engineering and lay audiences. - Ability to clearly communicate and present engineering topics in layman’s terms. - Ability to work independently within timelines using critical thinking skills towards a long-term vision. - Willingness to guide, mentor, and manage high school students, undergraduate engineers, medical students, and clinical residents and fellows.

During his fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Su trained in all the latest techniques of hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive surgery, joint reconstruction, and revision hip and knee replacement. Dr. Kahlenberg is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Hip and Knee replacement. Senior Systems Architect Under general direction of the Director, IT Infrastructure Systems and Storage or equivalent, the Sr. Systems Architect oversees the configuration, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of physical and virtual servers, relevant appliances, operating systems, and relevant applications and tools. Performs system configuration and utilization management of relevant systems. Performs research and assessment of existing and emerging technologies and solutions. Our dynamic out-patient settings offer the opportunity for a physical therapist to practice in variety of orthopedic environments and provide direct access care.   Candidates should be strong clinicians in the field orthopedic physical therapy and have experience and/or interest in staff development, mentoring and a willingness to lead educational initiatives for staff, community and professional audiences.  This position requires strong communication, team building and leadership skills.    To qualify, candidates must have 3+ years' experience, with out-patient clinical expertise emphasizing differential diagnosis, examination and treatment of various musculoskeletal pathologies of the spine and extremities; both non-operative and post-operative. New York State licensure is a requirement. APTA certifications including SCS or OCS are preferred, but not mandatory.
