The Director is expected to work closely with a variety of teams including Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC), Finance, Operational Excellence, Information Technology, front-line leaders and external vendors and consultants. The Director will also have frequent, ongoing exposure to executive leadership team and other key leaders across the organization. As the demand for services at HSS continues to grow, HSS is seeking a dynamic individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The Director will develop, implement, and lead the operational activation plans for opening new HSS facilities. The importance of transition planning and facility activation cannot be overstated. Opening an HSS facility is a complex process, with just one shot to get things right. It takes a diverse set of stakeholders—from front-line staff to construction managers—working together to open effective facilities for caregivers to deliver exceptional patient care. Reporting directly to the AVP, Project Development, Planning, Design, and Construction, the Director will be responsible for the following areas: Key Responsibilities: - Act in a key leadership role to develop and manage the transition from facilities construction to the teams who will operate new sites; the Directors critical responsibility includes directing teams to ensure smooth and efficient opening of all new HSS facilities. - Act as the primary liaison between the HSS Design & Deployment teams for all new HSS sites - Develop systems and processes to standardize approach to opening new HSS sites including employee engagement, communication plan, budget, success metrics, milestone reporting and dashboards, risk / issue log and reporting, and executive dashboards, go live command center support, opening events, alignment with construction, etc. - Partner with HSS leadership across various departments to ensure planning elements are not siloed, but centrally tracked and integrated to ensure alignment across all activity schedules; own the master schedule for each new strategic facilities site - Creates communication plan and engages with all stakeholders on a regular basis to inform, engage, and provide updates on upcoming go live activities. Provides updates to leadership teams on risks, accomplishments, issues and mitigation plans. - With growth in scope and responsibilities, evaluate the need for additional Facilities Activation and Transition Planning personnel, establish their scope and responsibilities, and hire and manage this team Example projects: - Partner with HSS leadership across various departments to build consensus around the intra- and interdepartmental workflows around transforming HSS’s Main Campus including construction milestones, IT decisions and implementation, education and training, recruitment, supply and equipment placement, cleaning, move planning, and others. This transformation includes opening the new 100,000 SF HSS Kellen Tower over the FDR Drive in Manhattan as well as several parallel renovations in existing facilities required to support an efficient and seamless patient journey at HSS’s Main Campus - Partner closely with the Regional Markets and other HSS leadership to direct planning and execution of new outpatient centers with multiple modalities of musculoskeletal care including physician practices, imaging, and rehabilitation; ensuring a smooth transition to these operational teams post-opening

Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.   Research Coordinator Full-Time 9am-5pm   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Clinical and Regulatory responsibilities:   - Oversees and conducts the informed consent process on studies as appropriate (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training).    - Manages data collection specific to research studies including but not limited to the performance of measurements for applicable studies, collection of clinical data from patients directly, and manages the performance of all other duties as put forth in the protocol.  This includes the supervision of multidisciplinary teams involved in the successful conduct of the study as well as research assistants I and II assigned to independent research studies. - Spearheads efforts to meet patient enrollment targets related to independent research studies. To that end, develops and implements various recruitment strategies.  - Ensures subject research visits and follow-ups are scheduled within the protocol specified time frame and that all required assessments and procedures are performed per the protocol. This requires coordination with both the research subject, either by phone, email, or mail per compliance and with physician office staff and ancillary departments (radiology, operating room staff, pathology, etc.). - Ensures accuracy of personnel transcribing data from a paper case report form (CRF) into an electronic format.   - Manages and executes IRB submissions for initial approvals, re-approvals, amendments, etc. Ensures timeliness and accuracy of submissions and no lapses in approvals for the study.  Directs research assistants in this effort as well. - Coordinates with Principal Investigator, ancillary department, central research administration, and compliance office to help ensure that clinical research and related activities are performed in accordance with federal and HSS regulations and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. - Performs advanced data queries when needed. Provides timely reports to Institutional Review Board, Principal Investigator, National Institutes of Health and/or sponsor for each research project. - Participates in the development of new protocols, prospective databases and new initiatives taken on by the department.  This may include independent design of databases and tools to facilitate data collection as required for specific projects (calendars, schedules, tracking logs). - Represents the Principal Investigator in departmental audits as well as external audits performed by representatives of the sponsor for each clinical research project.  Works closely with HSS internal monitor for guidance on these activities. - Collaborates with the research team and research administration, as needed, to ensure that research subjects are treated in accordance with all mandated requirements.  Ensures that standards regarding subject registration, protocol specific tests, and required documentation are adhered to.  Reports deviations as appropriate and resolves issues when possible.  Escalates issues to supervisor as needed. - Prioritizes and schedules work activities to ensure that workflow is controlled and meets the need of the department. Communicates and maintains institutional/departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards, improvement initiatives and external legal regulations/regulatory requirements.  - Knowledge of good clinical practice for the handling of specimens and blood may be required. - Maintains and enhances professional growth through participation in seminars, professional affiliations, and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of research data management. A qualified candidate has the ability to communicate in an effective manner with management, clinical staff, external sponsors and patients at HSS.  They may be asked to conduct procedures in the operating room including but not limited to blood processing, video, nerve conduction testing, photographs, applying devices and sensory testing.    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Training:   - Bachelor’s degree - ACRP, SOCRA, or similar certification preferred Experience:                 - 2-5 years experience in clinical research - Proficient use of computers and software - Knowledge of Orthopaedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is preferred but not required.  Qualifications:    The successful candidate must have at least 2 years experience in Clinical Research. Strong organizational and problem solving skills as well as excellent written and communication skills are essential. The laboratory is located in the Hospital for Special Surgery Research Institute (space fully renovated in January 2016) and is outfitted with modern equipment and facilities. HSS is a part of the tri-institutional alliance (HSS - Weill Cornell School of Medicine - Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center) on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with superb research environment and ample opportunities for professional interaction and growth. The primary responsibilities of this role are to create and own a functional automated test suite for our patient-facing cross-platform Digital Front Door, to extend that toolset to cover additional products, and to assist with the creation and maintenance of CI/CD scripts. The S.D.E.T. would work closely with the engineering team and the Digital Product team to implement process, define value, and report on product test coverage. The S.D.E.T. will be intimately familiar with Agile and Waterfall Software Development Life Cycles, will have experience creating automated suites for web apps, mobile apps, and Restful API’s, and will have experience writing and maintaining CI/CD scripts, ideally with CircleCI.   Roles and Responsibilities - Create and maintain functional automated test suites for React web and mobile-native patient-facing applications. - Write and maintain CI/CD scripts in CircleCI for various application pipelines. - Work closely with all members of the Product and DevOps teams – designers, technical architects, integration engineers, AWS engineers, site reliability engineers, Epic analysts, Digital and operational leadership -- to execute on the product vision. - Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. - Report on the overall test coverage of different products, as well as the execution history for different products. - Integrate our automated tests into our application pipelines in an efficient and flexible manner. - Document issues for the development team when test cases fail. - Assess opportunities for application and process improvement. Skills and Experience - Required - 3 years minimum of Experience writing Automated Functional and back-end tests for cross-platform applications. At least one project must have been a Javascript/node.js app. - 3 years minimum Experience writing and maintaining CI/CD scripts, ideally in CircleCI. - 3 years minimum Experience with Agile SDLC. - 3 years minimum Experience with an industry-best automation tool (Selenium, Cucumber, etc). - Experience with Jira for issue documentation and management. - Experience with test driven development. - Experience with various testing strategies and methodologies and strong understanding of when to apply those different strategies.   Skills and Experience – Preferred - Experience testing products that integrate with Epic, particularly products leveraging the MyChart SDK and/or App Orchard web services. - Experience with performance, load, and stress testing. - Experience with MuleSoft, Salesforce, or Twilio. - Excellent communication skills, equally as comfortable collaborating with demanding business leaders as you are collaborating with the internal development team.

This role reports to the IT Training Manager within the IT Client Services division.   Responsibilities - Assists the Training Manager in the design and implementation of a training strategy and training plan for the assigned applications/systems. - Partners with the business and IT stakeholders on course material development to ensure policies, procedures, and system functionality are accurately reflected. - Participates in cross-functional teams to identify and document functional requirements, workflows and policies to form the composite of training curriculum and content by role. - Develops e-learning courses modules using e-learning authoring software (Captivate). - Develops classroom curricula (e.g., PowerPoint Presentations, Exercise Booklets, Quick Reference Guides/Tip Sheets, etc.) applying instructional design methodologies. - Assigns training materials to be completed by staff for new hire, efficiency and optimization training. - Provides classroom training to end users of assigned application(s). - Assists end users with the personalization of Epic’s system. - Schedules course offerings with new employee orientation and other major events, including new go-lives. - Assesses the efficacy of training programs by administering end user proficiency assessments, and surveying learners with 30 and 60 day post-training evaluations. - Builds, tests and maintains the master training environment (MST) for the assigned Epic application(s). - Reviews and tests system changes, enhancements, and each new release as assigned to ensure training materials and the MST environment remain updated. - Maintains training documentation by versioning, organizing, and publishing materials across several platforms which include the Learning Management System (LMS), education intranet site and SharePoint. - Leads the Epic Experts (Super Users) program for their assigned application(s) by communicating system changes, workflow enhancements, and new training documentation in monthly Expert group meetings. - Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in education, healthcare, or a related field, or four (4) years of relevant experience in adult education or instructional design within a healthcare setting, including experience in planning and developing learning objectives and course materials for clinicians or patient access staff. - Candidates must have at least one year of direct experience training Epic’s clinical and/or revenue cycle systems in a classroom setting. - Must be certified in one of the Epic applications, either OpTime or Anesthesia, to be considered for this role; or must be credentialed in either Epic application by HSS or another healthcare system for version 2017 or later for consideration. - Requires certification in any additional assigned Epic applications within the first (1) year of hire. - Must maintain certification in assigned Epic application(s) on an annual basis. - Must complete Training Environment and Documentation (TED) course for each assigned application within the two months prior to MST rebuild. - Candidates must have proven problem solving, analytical, administrative, written and verbal communication, presentation, customer service and leadership skills, and will be expected to balance multiple initiatives. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). - Proficiency with Learning Management System administrative functions and build is preferred. - Experience with Adobe Captivate version 5.5 or higher is preferred. - Experience with Dragon Medical 360 dictation software is preferred.

We prefer applicants be comfortable working with patients and their families.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conducts the informed consent process on studies as appropriate (requires appropriate training and certification of human research subjects training). - Under supervision, monitors patients’ progress while on clinical trials via observation, clinical interactions and performance of study-specific assessments as outlined in protocols. - Manages data collection specific to research studies including but not limited to the performance of measurements for applicable studies, collection of clinical data from patients directly, and manage the performance of all other duties as put forth in the protocol. - Spearheads efforts to meet subject enrollment targets related to independent research studies. To that end, develops and implements various recruitment strategies. - Assists with IRB submissions for initial approvals, continuing reviews, amendments, etc… Ensures timeliness and accuracy of submissions and no lapses in approvals for the study. - Ensures accuracy of personnel transcribing data from a paper case report form (CRF) into an electronic format. - Performs data queries reconciliation when needed. Provides timely reports to Institutional Review Board, Principal Investigator, National Institutes of Health and/or sponsor for each research project. - Participates in the development of new protocols, prospective databases and new initiatives taken on by the department. This may include independent design of databases and tools to facilitate data collection as required for specific projects (calendars, schedules, tracking logs). - Compiles and assists in analyzing and interpreting data with the assistance of PI for reports to IRB, monitor NIH, NIH and/or sponsor, presentations and publications of various research projects. - Collaborates with the research team and research administration, as needed, to ensure that research subjects are treated in accordance with all mandated requirements. Ensures that standards regarding subject registration, protocol specific tests, and required documentation are adhered to.  Reports deviations as appropriate and resolves issues when possible.  Escalates issues to supervisor as needed. - Prioritizes and schedules work activities to ensure that workflow is controlled and meets the need of the department. Communicates and maintains institutional/departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards, improvement initiatives and external legal regulations/regulatory requirements. - Responsible for the handling, packaging, and shipping of dangerous goods under supervision and in compliance with State and Federal regulations. These specimens may include tissue, blood, dry ice, and chemicals.  Certification in these procedures is required in accordance with the Federal Regulations.  Knowledge of good clinical practice for the handling of specimens and blood required. - Maintains and enhances professional growth through participation in seminars, professional affiliations, and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of research data management.
