The candidate will manage administrative aspects of registry and research related data bases in addition to providing support in data extraction, manipulation, and preparation of standardized data sets. This position will require working in a collaborative environment across different disciplines to contribute to advance research under the SNF-CJRC.   RESPONSIBILITIES (30% Administrative support, 70% management of registry data):   Administrative   - Provides administrative support for all registry or research related projects; including but not limited to tracking registry/clinical research activities, progress reports for grants/registry data requests, summary reports as need on a per project basis - Analyzes, evaluates, and solves research data related protocol/logistical problems and reports deviations where appropriate. Is involved in the improvement process as necessary. Registry Management - Registry refinement as well as further development (e.g. handles I.T. communications/requests, generates reports/tracking logs as needed, serves as the liaison between database development team and clinicians in order to build/revise the center’s database, case report forms, and facilitates data collection), data management and structural changes to data bases as need for each protocol. - Develops and employs methods to continuously asses and improve registry standard operating protocols for data handling, archiving, and integrity check. - Candidate will be expected to have analytical skills, critical thinking & problem-solving skills, knowledge of data manipulation, and data quality and integrity assessments. - Able to explain data complications, understand “missings”, and provide solutions in an easy-to-understand format - Technical skills to carry out audits and quality checks of the data - Design, develop, and modify data management infrastructure to expedite data analysis and reporting. - Provide guidance in identifying and defining data requirements. - Provide technical oversight for integrating new technology or new initiatives into data standards and structures. - Evaluate the design, selection, implementation and support of database changes using clinical feedback reported by clinicians. - Assist in setting milestones and timelines for data requests and research projects - Ensure the integrity, confidentiality and security of all datasets.

Hospital for Special Surgery Department of Anesthesiology    Job Description – Physician Assistant, PACU/SDU/OSCU-overnight         Reports to: Director, Critical Care   Responsibilities: - Delivery of all aspects of pre and post-operative critical care as directed by supervising physician. - Management of acute post-operative pain. - Ordering and administration of parenteral medicines, bolus doses and transfusions subject to co-signature of supervising physician within 24 hours of written order. - Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests and invasive bedside procedures under the direction of the supervising physician. - Insertion of IV lines; removal of Swan-Gantz and arterial catheters; administering PCA. - Makes rounds with Attending and Resident physicians.
