Your primary focus will be to operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients of all age categories. This will entail MRI examinations using GE equipment, while ensuring the highest standards of safety for patients. We will also rely on you to properly store and maintain equipment, instruct patients on exams, and accurately log and document related information. .

This position involves a great deal of patient contact as well as interaction with physicians of various specialties in the hospital. Duties include (but are not limited to) recruitment of patients, assessment of eligibility criteria, administration of questionnaires, coordination of study visits, drawing blood, obtaining specimen form the operating room, processing of biospecimens, obtaining regulatory approvals, and maintaining accurate databases. S/he will have proven abilities to work autonomously, bearing independent responsibility to ensure data accuracy and timely follow through of study procedures. Opportunities for mentorship, authorship, and presentation at academic conferences exist for the right candidate.      RESPONSIBILITIES: - Identify, screen, recruit, obtain consent from patients for participation in research studies - Administer questionnaires, interviews in person, electronically, by mail or over phone - Coordinate patient visits; ensure protocol compliance - Prepare, submit, maintain study related materials/approvals for Institutional Review Board (IRB) - Schedule and set agendas for study team meetings; send notes afterwards (emphasis on action items) - Regularly report on progress towards project milestones - Organize and maintain all files and documents related to specific projects (electronic and physical files as applicable) - Design/maintain databases (i.e.REDCap), data collection forms, source documents, IRB documents, etc - Collect, process, store, ship blood/tissue/microbiome specimens (phlebotomy training provided as applicable) - Prepare and submit abstracts, manuscripts and presentations to disseminate study results/progress (includes proofing and editing, collection of financial disclosures - Assist in grant documents/submissions - Update curriculum vitae for PI’s and co-investigators as applicable - Create/maintain study specific instruction manuals and administrative training documents - Provide training to new-hire replacement upon leaving position

You will analyze Clinical Research contracts and be responsible for billing related to those contracts through our Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS). You will review and reconcile research related patient care activity in EPIC. Your scope of responsibilities will also include analyzing all clinical trial accounts, tracking and monitoring Clinical Trial receivables, processing Personnel Change Forms to allocate staff on clinical trial accounts, updating monthly deficit list and processing cash receipts. You will prepare account analysis and work on special projects as needed. You will assist with the Uniform Grant Guidance annual audit.

The selected candidate will be involved in research and development projects in joint reconstruction. Responsibilities will include building musculoskeletal and finite element models of virtually implanted total knee replacements to assess the effect of implant design and alignment on joint kinematics and loads, ligament balance, and the interaction between implant and bone. Mentoring and training will be provided by the HSS Biomechanics staff in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons from the Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement service and staff of the Radiology and Imaging Department. The goal of the fellowship is to provide the trainee with a broad, multidisciplinary experience. For applicants who are citizens of the United States or green card holders, possibilities exist for NIH support through a T32 Combined Engineering and Orthopaedics Training Program at HSS and TL1 Training and KL2 Scholar Awards offered by Weill Cornell Medical College’s Clinical and Translational Science Center. - Candidates must have a strong mechanical engineering background including finite element modeling (Abaqus preferred), musculoskeletal modeling (OpenSim preferred), MATLAB, image processing, and must possess excellent written and oral communication and team science skills. - Salary is competitive and will depend on the experience level of the candidate. The goal of the value management office is to accelerate the development of capabilities to deliver the highest quality and most cost-efficient musculoskeletal care to the patients we serve. The fellow will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the development and deployment of high value musculoskeletal care solutions with the unmatched clinical and operational expertise, data assets, and analytical skills found only at HSS. Key focus areas of value include measurement and communication, care delivery redesign, innovative tool development, research, education, and advocacy. The value analyst fellow will be required to act as an analyst in the conceptualization, design, and validation of novel quality measures for improving diagnosis for orthopedic conditions. This role will be 15 months in duration and will report to the AVP and director of the HSS Center for the Advancement of Musculoskeletal Care. The role will allow for exposure to multiple aspects of HSS including leading clinicians, Information Technology, and analytics. External stakeholders will include foundations, think tanks, and health systems. Assess the data and suggest improvements as needed. - Serve as the director for the department’s Global Musculoskeletal Health Equity Division (GMHED) program, including organizing meetings with global partners, overseeing program budget and expense reimbursement, facilitating multidisciplinary relationships, and coordinating overseas travel - Serve as the administrator for the Healthcare Immersion Program. Our CSP department is responsible for decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing and safely transporting reusable surgical instruments to our surgical areas. CSP also provides disposable medical supplies to the perioperative areas via surgical case carts.     The mission is to provide customers with products that are 100% clean, complete, sterile and delivered on time. The process is complex due to the vast amounts and variety of surgical instruments found in each tray and meeting the demand of our very busy operating rooms here at HSS. The CSP team prides themselves in being engaged and compliant to regulatory standards for quality and patient safety in order to deliver the best service and products for patients that come to HSS.   In the Central Sterile Technician role, we rely on you to adhere to the mission by ensuring the delivery of our world-renowned patient care, and providing sterile supplies, instruments and equipment required for patients undergoing orthopedic surgical interventions. You will support all patient care areas by properly processing surgical equipment using washers, sterilizers, dryers, and heat sealers. In addition, (s)he will provide customer service, assist with program registration and data entry, and assume other administrative duties for the department and division, as necessary. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Assist with the coordination and implementation of outreach programs, including workshops, lectures, screening programs and exercise classes: - Assist with registration process and day-of program logistics including registrations - Assist with community partner communications and logistics - Communicate with program faculty - Prepare program objectives and promotional copy (i.e. descriptions/social media, etc) - Prepare registration program pages, when applicable - Research and prepare presentation documents, if applicable - Prepare outcomes documents, including evaluations and reports - Assist with Community Partner Development, including: - Create a list of partners to contact - Collect community organization profiles Maintain library of topics to present partners, based on member audience demographics
