This new venture aligns experts in data engineering, data science, operational excellence, and medicine to pioneer new and innovative care delivery models, power our digital care platforms, incorporate novel technologies into care, augment clinical decision-making, set new standards in patient experience, advance the field of musculoskeletal health, and ultimately drive industry transformation. In short, CAMP focuses on ‘solving the unsolvable’, developing new technology and operating models to tackle the most complex problems, provide greater operational agility, and deliver a highly personalized patient and consumer experience. To accomplish these goals, HSS and CAMP will leverage its uniquely large musculoskeletal data set, spanning decades of care delivery and including diagnostic imaging, clinical notes, surgical planning guides, and postoperative outcomes.   Job Summary   As a CAMP Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in utilizing data science, applied statistics, and data analytics to improve the wellbeing of HSS patients and beyond by advancing new best-practices and innovations in musculoskeletal care. You will work on the cutting edge of data science in performance measurement and care delivery alongside a group of highly motivated scientists, analysts, clinicians, and operational staff giving you a unique opportunity to understand how applied research and analytics is directly used in clinical care.   Responsibilities - Lead data science projects focused on the application of statistics and statistical methods. Design, prototype, and test novel clinical and digital interventions and models, leveraging machine learning and deep learning (including recurrent and convolutional neural networks) to predict patient outcomes relevant to musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and rheumatological health. - Leverage advanced computer programming and large datasets toward those ends, including our structured electronic medical record, unstructured clinical notes, and various imaging modalities, focused on developing domain expertise in medicine and musculoskeletal health. - Work and collaborate with clinical teams, physicians, and operational leaders to develop strategies and data science products to solve real-world problems facing doctors and patients, toward optimizing care, minimizing surgical complications, and managing musculoskeletal disease as efficiently as possible while maintaining the best outcomes for our patients. - Work with data engineers to deploy designed and well-tested ML models into clinical practice, helping design appropriate frameworks to test and monitor ongoing model performance (e.g., model drift, data drift) and evaluate true downstream impact on clinical care and efficiency (beyond predictive performance). - Provide methodological, statistical, design, and analytical guidance for new and ongoing operations and applied research projects; facilitate new data collection as appropriate (from novel surveys or new technologies); help assess and measure hospital and provider performance.

Part-Time Care Coordinator Musculoskeletal Access Center   Job Summary: The Care Coordinator Lead for the HSS Health Services will manage a team of care coordinators that will be providing follow-up care for patients that engage with HSS triage providers and other HSS Health programs (To be developed). This individual will need to apply management skills, clinical expertise, and knowledge of case management to ensure the care coordinator team manages their patient load as they monitor adherence to plans and referrals. Care coordinators on the team will be required with interdisciplinary care teams, including, but not limited to, triage nurse practitioners, physical therapists, various physicians, chiropractors, employer programs and health benefits companies, to facilitate and coordinate patient-specific, evidence-based care. The Care Coordinator Lead will work with leadership across these disciplines to ensure success.   Responsibilities: Team Management & Leadership - Provide oversight and management of care coordination team – This includes but is not limited to, supporting clinical decision making, consulting on challenging cases, team growth and development, hiring/team growth, training, and proactive operational enhancements - Collaborate with HSS Health senior leadership to enhance and expand care management functions across the organization – This includes providing clinical insights, developing algorithms, creating workflows, and identifying opportunity areas - Coordinate with other stakeholders across the organization as a representative of the care coordination team Patient Management - Provide back-up support for placing patient calls to assess progress and identify modifications to care plans - Educate patients and encourage adherence to their plans of care as needed - Collaborate to develop care plans with triage APPs and physical therapists to ensure patients are referred to the right provider and that high-risk patients are identified and appropriately managed, as needed Clinical Team Coordination - Develop relationships with leadership across various HSS clinical teams – This includes physical therapy, HSS Network physical therapy sites, Physiatry, Spine, Pain Management, and Neurology departments - Review clinical information for team members that need support with any complex cases - Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, as needed, across the organization to ensure patients get the best care Administrative Management - Establish tracking metrics for team performance and monitor productivity - Collaborate other administrative teams to ensure that all referrals and ancillary services can be easily provided - Provide insight into the care management process and work with administration to ensure patients can receive the care they need in a timely manner - Provide input and expertise into the development and management of the HSS Care Management platform Metrics and Reporting of KPI’s - Establish quality metrics and programmatic KPIs - Oversight of data tracking in order to report on key productivity and programmatic indicators. - Knowledge and ability to aggregate key metrics in building upon our value proposition. - Analysis of data in order to continue to grow the business model in a scalable manner.

Dr. Daniel Osei is an orthopedic surgeon who treats a wide range of clinical problems affecting the hands, wrists, forearms, and elbows. In this role you will provide comprehensive administrative support to an HSS physician practice and contribute to an environment of clinical excellence.   Your role is essential to promoting a professional atmosphere through courteous communication, cooperation and respect for patients, visitors and members of the healthcare team.  In addition, you will be responsible for upholding stellar customer service practices for patients and families, as well as acting as a liaison to the physician and hospital departments. Provides expertise on compliance investigations and internal audits as needed. - Maintains, and effectively disseminates, HSS Documentation, Coding, and Billing Compliance Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines. - Proactively educates HSS clinical and administrative personnel, including conducting formal and 1:1 training, intranet-based aids and tools, and performs consistent follow-up to help ensure the adoption and usage of correct documentation, coding, and billing compliance procedures. - Attends additional training and performs research regarding best practice trends related to coding and billing compliance audit activities. - Coordinates and oversees external coding compliance audit activities with outside vendors and with external regulatory agencies, as needed. - Ensures that documentation, coding, and billing compliance reviews are completed within deadlines. - Maintains positive, collaborative and professional relationships with staff and management at all levels, including maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
