Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.   Pediatric Rehabilitation Advanced Clinician: Young Athlete PT – Manhattan, NY   Hospital for Special Surgery is actively seeking a dynamic physical therapist to join our Pediatric Rehabilitation Young Athlete/Youth Sports outpatient team.  This state of the art, dynamic setting offers the opportunity to practice in a supportive out-patient environment and collaborate with world class colleagues across multiple disciplines.  Candidates must have clinical experience working with 8–21-year-old youth, and knowledge of pediatric and adolescent sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitative guidelines.    Qualifications   To qualify, the candidate must have 3+ years of out-patient clinical expertise with an emphasis in examination and treatment of the pediatric and adolescent athlete.  APTA SCS credential and/or sports residency training are preferred.  CSCS or equivalent is highly recommended.  New York State licensure is a requirement.    Along with clinical expertise, this position requires strong communication, team building, mentorship and leadership skills. Candidates need to have experience working with children of all ages and possess expertise and knowledge of pediatric neurological and orthopedic conditions including pediatric sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitative guidelines.    Qualifications   To qualify, you must have 3+ years of pediatric out-patient clinical experience with an emphasis in examination and treatment of various musculoskeletal and neurological pathologies that impact children ages birth through 21 years of age.  Focused experience in the examination and treatment of the adolescent athlete is a plus. APTA  PCS and/or NDT certifications preferred.  New York State licensure is a requirement.  Along with clinical expertise, this position requires strong communication, team building, mentorship and leadership skills. The successful candidate will work across various locations of the HSS Campus.   The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a collaborative, outpatient clinical setting, which includes other allied health practitioners such as physical and occupational therapists. The candidate will be expected to participate in community outreach initiatives, as well as having the opportunity to present at professional education conferences.   This is a unique opportunity for an individual with solid testing and training skills as well as superior customer service to join a growing program in a world-renowned academic medical center.   Requirements To qualify you must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Exercise Physiology or related field coupled with a minimum of 2 years training experience with wide variety of clientele. Certifications from the ACSM (ACSM-CEP preferred) or NASM, ACE or NSCA are required for employment. This position is benefit eligible with a competitive salary structure.

Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise.   Postdoc Fellow for Carl Blobel Lab Job Summary: The Blobel Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with a recent PhD or MD/PhD degree, training in cell biology and mouse models for human disease for a position to work on an exciting project related to the role of iRhom2/ADAM17 in efferocytosis and chronic wounds in mice. The candidate is expected to have one or more high quality first author publications cell biology or mouse models of disease or both and should be highly motivated and productive and interested in a career in research. Expertise in mouse models for wound healing and/or in working with myeloid lineage cells such as macrophages would be a plus but is not required. The postdoctoral fellow will report directly to Dr. Carl Blobel in the HSS Research Institute. A candidate will meet with Dr. Blobel on a weekly basis and will discuss the experimental plan and research direction in the area of interest. High level of motivation and independence and the ability to think critically are expected. Ideal candidates must have good written/oral communication skills in English. PhD candidates expected to graduate soon are also encouraged to apply.
