    Job Description - Research Data Analyst

     

    Reports to: Dr. Stavros Memtsoudis; Assistant Director, Research; Director, Research

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the publication of high quality research articles via data mining, manipulation, preparation and analysis of various internal and external databases
    • Use patient data within the EPIC electronic medical record to conduct internal research projects and format data for contribution to external multidisciplinary database collaborations
    • Manage statistical and methodological projects within the research division
    • Prepare materials for scientific documents. Conduct data analysis and prepare statistical graphs and tables for research presentations, abstracts, manuscripts and grants.
    • Participate in research leadership initiatives and committees, and proactively suggest improvements
    • Assist in the educational activities of fellows and residents
    • Maintain and enhance professional skills and growth through participation in meetings, seminars, professional affiliations, and internal training sessions to keep abreast of trends in the field of research data management

    Department Requirements:

    • Displays a positive attitude toward work assignments, performance feedback, and interactions with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors
    • Willingly adheres to Department and Hospital policies and procedures
    • Maintains computer literacy, including proficiency in Outlook email and E-learning
    • Attends Department meetings regularly and punctually

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in statistics, biostatistics or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
    • Prior research experience preferred
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software
    • Ability to interpret medical data and generate sound recommendations to support clinical research efforts
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
