Overview

 Technical & Information Security Project Manager

  • Manages large complex projects in the IT technical/infrastructure and information security space
  • Develops pricing/cost estimates for new projects
  • Develops and manages IT project budgets with Finance
  • Develops work plans and ensures effective scope, cost, timeline, issues, risk, communication and quality management throughout
  • Develops and leads cross-functional project teams, ensuring adherence to agreed project timelines
  • Produces timely project summaries and high level reports to ensure effective communication with approved project governance and stakeholders
  • Works to control change and (where applicable) by adjusting scope, budget and timeline
  • Manages/escalates project risks and issues appropriately
  • Develops and leads the execution of testing plans; including any onsite hardware testing as needed
  • Ensures alignment of project goals to customer expectations, applying proper quality assurance and user acceptance of solutions prior to implementation
  • Develops and leads the execution of go-live activation plans, including onsite and on-call support
  • Develops post go-live transition plans to ensure proper ongoing maintenance support and captures lessons learned for future projects
  • Utilizes project management methodologies and time management skills
  • Adheres to approved HSS Project Management Office (PMO) policies/procedures and contributes to the constant advancement of project management practices at HSS IT
  • Partners with IT Technical Services and Information Security teams to provide project lessons learned
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years managing IT technical/infrastructure and information security projects involving software, equipment deployment, servers, networking, storage and/or back-up
  • Expert level proficiency with MS Office including Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in working with and leading multiple teams from different disciplines as well as the ability to manage internal expectations on project requirements and timelines.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently, resolve conflicts and manage project plans as well as communicate risks, issues and concerns with operational counterparts
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented; a team player who is analytical and focused on achieving HSS’s business goals through technology initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MS or MBA preferred)
  • MS Project or other project scheduling software experience required
  • PMP or ITIL certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with project portfolio management software strongly preferred (e.g. CA Clarity, Eclipse PPM)
  • Experience in agile project management methodologies preferred
