    Per Diem Sports Safety Educator

                                                                          Sports Safety ACL Program                                                                    

    Public and Patient Education Department - Education and Academic Affairs

     

    The Sports Safety Per Diem Educator will provide public health-based education to youth and high school athletes, their coaches, parents, and administrators as part of the Sports Safety Program at Hospital for Special Surgery.

    Specific job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Present ACL program education material at workshops and sports camps and clinics under the direction of the HSS Sports Safety Program Manager
    • Participate in clinical research studies and education outcome measures
    • Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of educational materials and program curricula under the direction of the HSS Sports Safety Program Manager

    Job requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science or a related field
    • 3 to 5 years clinical experience
    • Recommended certifications include Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM), Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)
    • Current CPR certification
    • Outstanding communication and human interaction skills
    • Strong consideration given to those with a demonstrated history of public speaking, sports injury prevention programming, and advanced knowledge of ACL injury risk factors and preventive strategies
