The Hospital for Special Surgery Rehabilitation Department is seeking an experienced advanced clinician level pediatric speech language pathologist to join the dynamic staff of the Pediatric Rehab division.
As a member of our renowned Rehabilitation Pediatric Department, you will provide pediatric outpatient evaluations and treatment for pediatric patients with a variety of speech, language and feeding diagnoses. In this role you will work collaboratively with the pediatric physical therapists and occupational therapists. The caseload also includes working with patients in the acute care setting to perform bedside swallow evaluations and treatment for our in-patient population. Educating patients and family members on the most up-to-date approaches to the rehabilitation process will be an important part of this role.
The successful candidate must be New York State licensed and certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and possess NYS Certification as Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Minimum 3 to 5 years of work experience required, with emphasis on working with a variety of pediatric diagnoses and well as experience with adult patients with swallowing disorders. Along with clinical experience, this position requires strong communications skills and mentoring skills. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are vital. Master’s degree also required.
