Research Technician - Mendias Lab
A research technician position is available in the Mendias Lab. The lab studies regenerative biology in skeletal muscle and tendon tissue. The primary responsibilities for this position will be in animal care, and conducting surgeries in mouse and rat models of musculoskeletal conditions. The position will also perform DNA isolation, PCR-based genotyping, assist with breeding and animal husbandry, and work closely with the staff of the HSS/Weill Cornell/Memorial Sloan Kettering Research Animal Resource Center (RARC) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Secondary responsibilities include assistance with histology and other general lab techniques. The non-experimental duties include general lab maintenance, supplies ordering, data analysis, assistance with manuscript submission, creating figures, and assistance with IACUC protocols.
- High school diploma
- Prior experience working in a research laboratory
- Experience in animal husbandry, small animal surgery, mouse colony maintenance, and genotyping analysis
- Experience working with IACUC protocols
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences or engineering discipline
