Physician Assistant - Spine Operative

Tuesdays - Fridays

Hours: 1:00 pm - 11:00 pm (40 hours/wk)

 

Contribute to our mission of improving mobility and enhancing the quality of life for all for the #1 Orthopedic Hospital in the United States for the 8th year in a row! As an essential member of our Orthopedic Physician Assistant team, you will provide comprehensive pre/postoperative care which includes:

  • Primarily first assist on a variety of Orthopedic cases (primarily Spine Surgery) that includes: microdisectomy, laminectomy, and Spinal fusion procedures. May also assist on other orthopedic cases as needed (Hand, Foot and Arthroplasty procedures)
  • Admission history and physicals
  • Post-operative checks with neurologic assessments
  • Management of both medical /surgical issues for inpatient population on a limited basis

 

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have the following :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited PA program; Master's preferred
  • Current NYS Physician Assistant license and registration
  • BLS/ACLS certification
  • NCCPA board certification is required
  • Infection Control certification
  • Completion of a child abuse recognition course
  • DEA required upon hire
  • Have excellent communication and be a teamplayer
  • Possess strong clinical skills
