Manager, Strategic Sourcing Contract - Purchasing Services

Overview:
HSS Supply Chain Management specializes in the strategic sourcing of goods, services, and medical equipment while managing vital functions such as strategic planning, contract negotiation, distribution & pricing strategies, that together enable the delivery of highest standards of orthopedics healthcare and foster partnerships with customers and suppliers.
The Strategic Sourcing department oversees critical supplier relationship management and contract management processes to ensure that contract terms are met, and termination dates are monitored. Responsibilities include analyzing product and services cost structures to develop short- and long- range plans to improve sourcing costs and vendor performance, opportunities to consolidate suppliers, partner with departmental stakeholders to set purchasing standards, improve negotiations and reduce the total cost of ownership for products and services.
The Sourcing Contract Manager specifically uses their contract management expertise to draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensure that all contracts comply with procurement policies and legal requirements, and manage the contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations. Additionally, the Sourcing Contract Manager works closely with legal team to ensure that procurement requirements are met and support all contract-related matters, as well as facilitate effective communication and collaboration between internal departments and external suppliers.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contract Background – Reviews contracts, terms and conditions, and ramifications of contractual verbiage as it relates to the product, service, supplier in question and those ramifications within the hospital. Develops contracts supporting HSS business requirements, including clearly defined service expectations/goods specifications, performance measurement practices and shortfall remedies. Leverage HSS ERP and CLM tools to streamline administrative contract life cycle process.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: The Strategic Sourcing Manager must be detail oriented, collaborative, self-motivated requiring minimal supervision, proactive, creative, an independent thinker, have superior problem-solving skills, have a positive can-do attitude, and demonstrate composure in times of uncertainty and stress.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS: The Strategic Sourcing Manager must demonstrate an ability to inspire and collaborate cross functionally and influence the decision-making process through data, analytics, and strategic insights.
A highly experienced healthcare professional with at least five years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, two of which specialize in the medsurg and purchased services product spend category.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in a normal business office environment. No special physical demands are required.
RISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS: Category III-Tasks that involve NO exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and Category I tasks that are not a condition of employment.
