Analyst II, Epic Optime Anesthesia

Overview:

 

Hospital for Special Surgery has an opportunity for an experienced IT professional to collaborate on all aspects of the support and maintenance of Epic System’s OpTime and Anesthesia modules. As a key member of the Information Technology Department, the OpTime/Anesthesia Analyst will attain/maintain specialized knowledge of our enterprise Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and serve as a vital liaison between the HSS IT Department, perioperative hospital departments, physician’s offices, and Epic representatives.

**This position requires the flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends during major implementation and support efforts**

 

Responsibilities

  • Actively work on all aspects of the Optime & Anesthesia application including build, testing, deployment, and all support activities.
  • Stay current on perioperative workflows and adhere to documentation standards and workflow design
  • Conduct detailed assessment of current state workflows & develop efficient future state workflows
  • Coordinate and communicate with all perioperative and anesthesia personnel
  • Prioritize and implement system change requests; coordinating with end-users
  • Ensure test scripts are created, reviewed and updated to reflect workflows
  • Collaborate effectively with Epic personnel using Sherlock or other appropriate tools
  • Develop relationships, trust, and credibility to successfully manage multiple demands.
  • Review software, analyze business needs and collaborate with colleagues, HSS Business Representatives/Subject Matter Experts and end-users to ensure systems are suitable for the organization’s needs
  • Assume responsibility for developing and documenting internal processes and procedures
  • Coordinate with training team to maximize end-user adoption of functionality and tools.
  • Thoroughly review and test each new release and enhancement to assess and communicate impact
  • Remain current on Epic technologies and obtain/maintain certification in Epic applications as warranted
  • Actively monitors tickets, documents activities thoroughly and resolves issues within the established service levels in a consistent manner
  • Implement, Support, Maintain related third-party systems
  • Provide on-site support during go-lives and system upgrades. 
  • Provide on-call support on a rotating basis

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Certified in Optime and Anesthesia Epic applications
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and pragmatic; a team player who is analytical and solution-focused
  • Excellent oral, written and non-verbal communication skills; ability to forge and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain/maintain Epic Certification(s) essential to their function
  • Flexibility to work an expanded work schedule, including early mornings, nights & possibly weekends during major implementation and support efforts
  • Hybrid work environment. 3 days on-site required currently

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or clinical certification (RN, PA, LPN) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Capsule Smartlinx and Microsystems SPM is a plus.
  • Experience with OR Block Management is preferred
  • Experience with Procedure Pass strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Visio, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, Monday.com preferred
  • 3+ years working in a healthcare environment with physicians, surgeons or clinical staff

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $120,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $140,000.00/Yr.
