Pharmaceutical Technicial- Per Diem 

Inventory Specialist

 

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Site Administrator, and according to HSS policies and procedures and guidelines, the individual is responsible for supporting all aspects pertaining to the procurement and maintenance of medication, pharmaceutical and anesthesia supplies.  This includes but is not limited to: purchasing medications, pharmaceutical and anesthesia supplies, monitoring inventory levels, rotating stock, re-filling automated dispensing machines and effectively utilizing the return process to ensure proper credit is received from the drug wholesaler.

 

Job Duties:

  • Medication purchasing activities include purchase orders, order acknowledgement, order expediating, phone order and order processing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform routine pricing review with existing supplies for the purchase of goods.
  • Advise site leadership of lead times, shipping errors and backorders.
  • Monitor, communicate and manage drug shortages.
  • Assure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)
  • Assists in communicating and handling of product recalls
  • Appropriately stores and secures medications and supplies
  • Restocks automated dispensing machines
  • Maintains stock inventories of all medications, pharmaceutical and anesthesia supplies.
  • Performing complete inventory checks of all stock and supplies to assure adequate supply and expirations
  • Ensure all documentation related to inventory flows is complete and accurate

 

 

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalency diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in purchasing or equivalent business environment.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • New Jersey Pharmacy Technician License

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $32.22/Hr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $33.21/Hr.
