Sports Safety Per Diem Educator, Sports Safety Program-New York City metropolitan area

The Sports Safety Per Diem Educator will provide public health-based education to high school athletes, their coaches, parents, and administrators as part of the Sports Safety Program at Hospital for Special Surgery.

Specific job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Deliver educational workshops and training sessions under the direction of the HSS Sports Safety Program Manager
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and improvement of educational materials and program curricula under the direction of the HSS Sports Safety Program Manager
  • Participate in data collection for clinical research studies and education outcomes under the direction of the HSS Sports Safety Program Director

 

Qualifications

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology or a closely related field
  • 3 to 5 years clinical experience
  • Recommended certifications include Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM), Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM), and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Outstanding communication and human interaction skills
  • Strong consideration given to those with a demonstrated history of public speaking, sports injury prevention program development, and/or development and implementation of public health education programs.

USD $55.00/Hr.
