Facilities Planner I, Workspace Planning

Role

HSS, the world leader in musculoskeletal health, is seeking a Facilities Planner I for an exciting opportunity to collaborate on the continued strategic growth of our organization. As the demand for services at HSS continues to grow, HSS is seeking a dynamic individual to assist in the development of new regional sites and the main campus transformation and support the enterprise space management strategy.

As part of the Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) group, the Facilities Planner I will work on projects of various types and sizes, and will impact projects at all points through the design process. The Facilities Planner I will also work closely with a variety of teams including Finance, Operational Excellence, Information Technology, front-line leaders, and external vendors and consultants. The Facilities Planner I will also have frequent exposure to executive leadership team and other key leaders across the organization.

Reporting directly to the Director, Facilities Planning & Design, the Facilities Planner’s first engagement will focus on Workspace Planning, this position will help transform HSS to a more modern, agile workforce leveraging various workplace models of the future. Planner will partner with executive leadership and the Space Planning team to stand up a Workspace Planning Governance Structure, develop and execute a space allocation plan, and support the integration of workspace data to an Integrated Workspace Management System (IWMS). Highly efficient project management, analytics, and change management will be critical to the success of this transformational effort. This is a highly important, multidimensional project driving organizational efficiency and improvement in the midst of a changing market and evolving workspace model.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement workplace strategies with internal and external teams
  • Liaising with departmental managers to determine space requirements
  • Craft programs for strategic projects
  • Perform space planning exercises
  • Assist in the implementation of an integrated workplace management system
  • Maintain up to date floor plans and space assignments
  • Assist in the creation of space planning and interior design guidelines for new and renovated facilities
  • Assist in managing external consultants

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (e.g., BA, BS, BSN, BSW) in Business, Healthcare, or related professional degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in space planning, workplace and healthcare preferred

Preferred Experience and Proven Abilities

  • Full working knowledge of software including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint are required.
  • Previous experience with IWMS systems preferable
  • Knowledge of the FGI Guidelines preferable
  • Able to take complex, multi-dimensional ideas to paper
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects
  • Demonstrated capacity to multi-task and utilize critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding
  • Able to work effectively when the way forward is not obvious, and resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $85,000.00/Yr.
