Postdoctoral Fellow | Otero lab | HSS Research Institute, Hospital for Special Surgery
Location: HSS Research Institute, Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY
Research Focus: The Otero lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for a position to work on an exciting translational study focused on understanding the functionally relevant immune-modulatory and disease-modifying effects of platelet-rich-plasma (PRP). Ultimately, the study aims to identify knee osteoarthritis (OA) patient subtypes and PRP constituents with prognostic and functional significance.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, as part of the HSS Center for Regenerative Medicine, and will conduct experiments involving integration of clinical outcomes with multi-omics analyses of clinical samples and in vitro models. Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field. Candidates are expected to have at least one peer-reviewed high quality first author publication and should be highly motivated and productive. Good written/oral communication skills in English, and expertise in flow cytometry, RNA sequencing, protein analysis methods, bioinformatics analyses and data mining, and cell culture in vitro models, are highly desirable. The Postdoctoral Fellow will report directly to Dr. Otero in the HSS Research Institute, and they will meet with Dr. Otero on a weekly basis to discuss progress and the experimental plan.
