Per diem Physician Assistant 

 

Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 12 years, is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full Time Physician Assistant for one of our physician offices. Dr. Steven J. McAnany’s practice specializes in Spine Surgery. In this role you will provide comprehensive administrative support and direction to an HSS physician practice.

 

Dr. McAnany Orthopedic Spine Surgeon, is seeking a Per Diem Physician Assistant to join his team. Serving as an assistant to Dr. McAnany, duties will include: first-assist responsibilities in the operating room, evaluation of new patients with work-up and interpretation of diagnostic studies, relaying results and treatment plans to patients, counseling patients and their families regarding proposed surgical procedures as well as addressing pre-and post-operative patient questions and concerns. You will have the opportunity to support a growing surgical practice focused on minimally invasive spine surgery. The position requires close interaction with patients and families; eligible candidates must demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

 

This office is located in Stamford, CT.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Graduation from an accredited PA program, current CT Licensure, BLS/ACLS certification and NCCPA board certification are required.

 

Previous experience in a Spine and surgical practice is desired but not required.

 

Also, the candidate must have current Infection Control Certification and have completed a child abuse recognition course. The PA must have excellent communication skills, Clinical skills and be a team player. Surgical experience or training is preferred.
