    Development Director, Education Institute 


    The Development Director, Education Institute will report to the Assistant Vice President, Professional Education, and work closely with Education Institute leadership in identifying and securing resources to support education programs through cultivating and stewarding relationships with companies and organizations that support the academic and education mission of HSS. The primary focus for resource development will include the departments of Professional Education, Public and Patient Education, and Academic Training, as well as the Education Institute as a whole.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    Strategic Planning and Relationship-building

    • Cultivate and steward high level relationships with companies and organizations that support the mission of HSS and the Education Institute
    • Identify funding for Education Institute programs from sources such as pharmaceutical and medical device companies, private foundations, and government agencies
    • Identify funding needs and sources through relationships with faculty and services within HSS
    • Create annual fundraising strategic plan that complements the EI strategic plan
    • Create fundraising and sponsorship packages that mutually benefit EI, HSS and funders
    • Collaborate on fundraising efforts with HSS Development Department
    • Track and analyze annual EI revenue

    ACCME Standards for Commercial Support

    • Ensure HSS compliance with ACCME’s Standards for Commercial Support


    • Prepare and submit funding proposals for grant, exhibit, sponsorship and in-kind donations, as well as reconciliation and final reports
    • Conduct prospect research to identify new sources of support
    • Create revenue projection reports and regular funding status reports
    • Secure and manage Letters of Agreement


    • Masters in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field
    • Proven track record of securing external funding for educational programs
    • Experience in crafting funding proposals and sponsorship packages
    • Excellent relationship building, written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong initiative and ability to assume significant project responsibility
