    Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 9 years and is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Full-Time Peri-Operative Coordinator for our Pediatric Peri-Operative Office. In this role you will provide comprehensive administrative support to HSS physicians and contribute to an environment of clinical excellence.


    In this role, you will provide support for the operations of the medical office. This includes, but not limited to, answering phones for attending physicians, scheduling patient appointments, maintaining calendars in Outlook for all physicians, maintaining inventory of office supplies; ordering when necessary, sorting and opening mail, coordinating academic activities of pediatric medicine department (including submitting and tracking CME reimbursements), and setting up pediatric resident computer training, obtaining pertinent patient records prior to patients’ appointments, preparing pre-surgical appointment lists and charts one week in advance for review by pediatric attendings, coordinating follow-up appointments/testing with specialists and hospital as requested by MD/RN, following up on obtaining results from specialist(s) and or parents, scanning all necessary documentation into EPIC EMR. In addition, responsibilities include reviewing insurance coverage and discussing patient responsibility with patients/parents, obtaining authorizations/certifications for treatments and diagnostic procedures, patient check-in/out, including copay collection, making revenue deposits and any additional tasks as assigned.

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred) and at least two years of related MD office/healthcare experience.
