Patient Access Specialist I
A highly visible customer service position that is responsible for the reception of patients, families, and health care providers. The Patient Access Specialist I is an expert in areas of customer service, registration/scheduling, template management, benefit collection, authorizations, and the HSS Standards of Care. Maintains constant interaction with patients, families, payers and clinical areas. Has the ability to float to multiple patient access areas and/or knowledgeable in multiple patient access functions. Patient Access Specialist is expected to score in the top 2% of measurable categories.Will also work collaboratively with Schedulers to ensure support to physicians, nursing, and registration staff in the provision of care to patients and families according to established standards of care. Will facilitate scheduling of appointments, conferences, diagnostic testing, pre-surgical clearance and surgery as directed by physicians’ orders.
