We seek an experienced nurse to work with patients in our infusion therapy suite and in our Neurology outpatient practice. Working with patients with a variety of neuromuscular disorders and conditions as well as patients undergoing clinical trials, you will be a key contributor to the delivery of carefor this newly launched initiative.
Nursing experience in an outpatient clinical setting as well as proficiency with IV insertions and management/delivery of IV infusions will be primary among your core competencies. In addition you will function within a multi-disciplinary team, while serving as a liaison to patients, families and physicians.

Pediatric/Family Nurse Practitioner

The Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner is a Board-Certified advanced practitioner who is
trained to provide care, coordination, and management of the pediatric orthopedic patient. The
NP will join our pediatric orthopedic team of 11 Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons and 8 Nurse
Practitioners in our growing Pediatric Orthopedic Department at Hospital for Special Surgery.
The NP will work in collaboration with the orthopedic surgeon to evaluate, diagnose and treat
patients in the ambulatory setting. The NP will practice both autonomously and in concert with
other medical professionals to screen and optimize care for patients who are seeking both
surgical and non-surgical orthopedic care. The NP will collaborate with the interdisciplinary
team to manage conditions ranging in complexity. The NP will have prescriptive privileges for
both medicinal and therapeutic age-related modalities. The NP will also serve as a resource,
mentor and educator for the pediatric patient, their family and other healthcare members. The NP
may also be expected to participate in departmental development or research activities conducted
in collaboration with other pediatric health care team members.
Responsibilities
• Work in collaborative model with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon and multidisciplinary team.• Conduct comprehensive history, assessment, diagnosis, and treatments of the pediatric orthopedic patient
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care and teaching
• Order and Interpret diagnostic studies and communicate to the patient, providing appropriate treatment and follow up education.
• Assist office staff with peer-to-peer requests from insurance companies, letters of medical necessity, FMLA paperwork, and required paperwork from patients outlining their medical recommendations.
• Clinical coverage of the primary pediatric orthopedic surgeon’s partners as schedule allows.
• Participation in practice development, research activities, and departmental projects to improve the holistic quality of care for the pediatric orthopedic patient
• Regular attendance in weekly academic multidisciplinary conference and participation in appropriate annual educational conference

Scope of Duties:

As an integral member of our Laboratory team, the successful candidate performs blood tests and other body fluid tests using automated analyzers as well as manual methods to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Responsibilities
- Identifies morphology of hematopoietic cells in various stages of development and other characteristics of cells, which may be related to disease processes, with understanding of the significance of the finding.

- Performs all required procedures related to counting and identification of blood cells, coagulation studies, other hematologic procedures, and routine urinalysis using a variety of equipment.
- Perform all required procedures related to enzymes and other chemical analytes using a variety of equipment including Vitros, blood gas analyzers, etc.
- Prepare solutions and reagents used in all test, with particular attention to viability, lot number and expiration date of substance before using in the performance of tests.

Overview:
Our Ultrasound Division is a one-of-a-kind, innovative academic center where fellowship-trained musculoskeletal radiologists and specialized technologists utilize leading-edge diagnostic and treatment techniques in musculoskeletal ultrasound to provide exceptional patient care.
The Division boasts an entire treatment suite with six patient rooms with high-end, high-resolution ultrasound systems. Our fellowship-trained radiologists are highly skilled in the interpretation of musculoskeletal ultrasound and routinely perform ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventional procedures. Our specialized technologists are uniquely trained in this high-volume musculoskeletal ultrasound practice. The Department focuses on both the imaging diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions/diseases and the treatment of specific conditions utilizing image guidance.
Position Summary:
The Sonographer position requires an individual trained at an accredited sonography program to apply learned skills to outpatient and inpatient procedures/studies in a hospital department setting. All functions are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility, protocols, policies, and procedures, and applicable professional standards while ensuring the highest standards of safety for patients. The sonographer is also expected to properly store and maintain equipment, instruct patients on exams, and accurately log and document related information.

- Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficits.
- Provide guidance on budget and financial policies to ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards.

ODIL is an applied research lab for interdisciplinary collaboration and solution design, focused on advanced applications of analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence within the field of musculoskeletal health. The knowledge and novel technology solutions developed in the Lab will help improve access to high quality musculoskeletal care across the globe with the goal of keeping humans moving healthier and longer. Our core team aligns experts in medicine, engineering, data science, analytics, and operations research to pioneer new and innovative care delivery models, power our digital care platforms, and incorporate new technologies into care delivery.
Job Summary
We are seeking a data scientist to join our ODIL team to contribute to the development of the largest curated musculoskeletal data ecosystem in the world and collaborate with leading experts in medicine, data science, and technology. Together, we will unlock the potential of our data resources to improve healthcare access, monitor musculoskeletal health, study movement, and prevent disease on a global scale. We are seeking highly motivated and intellectually curious individuals to join our interdisciplinary team of data scientists, engineers, and product managers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise to advance applications within the field of musculoskeletal health, working closely with academic institutions, healthcare providers, and applied researchers from complementary disciplines. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the development of novel technology solutions that promote healthier and longer human movement, transforming care delivery and improving the quality of life for millions of patients worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Lead data science projects focused on the application of statistical modeling techniques and methods. Design, prototype, and test novel clinical and digital interventions and models, leveraging machine learning (including computer vision and natural language processing) to analyze and predict patient outcomes relevant to musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and rheumatological health.
- Leverage advanced computer programming and large datasets toward those ends, including our structured electronic medical records, unstructured clinical notes, and various 2d and 3d imaging modalities and associated free-text reports, focused on developing domain expertise in medicine and musculoskeletal health.
- Work and collaborate with clinical teams, physicians, operational leaders, and product team to develop strategies and advanced analytics products to solve real-world problems facing doctors and patients toward optimizing care, minimizing surgical complications, and managing musculoskeletal disease as efficiently as possible while maintaining the best outcomes for patients.
- Work with data engineers to deploy designed and well-tested ML models into clinical practice, helping design appropriate frameworks to test and monitor ongoing model performance (e.g., model drift, data drift) and evaluate true downstream impact on clinical care and efficiency (beyond predictive performance).
- Provide methodological, statistical, design, and analytical guidance for new and ongoing projects and facilitate new data collection as appropriate (from novel surveys or new technologies). Help form partnerships with external hospitals, healthcare entities, or academic institutions to further validate and retrain models, as well as test the implementation of digital products leveraging those models.

Senior Accountant-Hybrid (Based in NYC)

Reporting directly to the Finance Assistant Director, he/she will be responsible for accounting and finance support for the Hospital’s Joint Ventures and Commercial Initiatives. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting functions related to the establishment of joint ventures such as ambulatory surgery centers and other non-hospital initiatives.
The position requires outstanding accounting and finance skills. He/she will have worked successfully in a highly matrixed organizational structure and process excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific responsibilities for the accounting functions related to the establishment of joint ventures and other non-hospital initiatives include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the accounting structure in the general ledger system
- Assist in management of financial issues surrounding the implementation of the initiatives and ventures
- Assist in development of the budget for the venture(s)
- Prepare journal entries relating to the ventures or initiatives
- Prepare monthly financial analysis and monthly reporting
- Prepare year-end reporting requirements and audit support
