    Casual File Clerk Requirement for Dr. Scott Ellis:


    Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 8 years, is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Casual File Clerk for one of our physician offices.  Dr. Ellis’s practice centers on the evaluation and treatment of conditions of the foot and ankle. He is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon whose comprehensive practice specializes in all types of Achilles disorders including acute tears and more chronic degeneration (or tendinosis). Dr. Ellis also treats a vast array of patients with ankle fractures and has performed hundreds of total ankle replacements for severe ankle arthritis. He surgically corrects bunions, both in women and men, as well as flatfoot deformity. Another interest and specialty of Dr. Ellis is arthritis of the big toe. In this role you will provide comprehensive administrative support and direction to an HSS physician practice, overseeing day-to-day operations and contributing to an environment of clinical excellence.


    Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: triaging phone calls and patient inquiries, scheduling patients for appointments and procedures, conducting verification of medical insurance and patient billing/collections, authorization of services, filing/chart preparation. In addition, the File Clerk will promote a professional atmosphere through courteous communication, cooperation and respect for patients, visitors and members of the health care team.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that best customer service practices are offered to patients and families, acting as a liaison to the physicians and hospital departments.

    Position requires candidate to work in the office on Tuesday and Friday each week.
