    F/T  Patient Services Coordinator

    Trauma Service

    Mondays - Fridays 7:00 am - 3:00 pm


    A highly-visible role responsible for coordinating the day-to-day administrative operations of the Trauma Service. The Patient Services Coordinator is an expert in all administrative aspects related to high-quality, efficient patient care and administrative support. Specific responsibilities include:

    • Scheduling patient appointments and completing a full patient registration when appropriate;
    • Scheduling surgery and communicating special needs to relevant departments and vendors;
    • Answering and appropriately documenting and triaging patient calls;
    • Returning appropriate calls on behalf of the Trauma service;
    • Facilitating organization and planning for service meetings and events;
    • Developing and maintaining service-related files, such as annual reports, and other records;
    • Compiling expense reports and reimbursement requests and tracking cost center activity;
    • Maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering supplies as needed;
    • Serving as a liaison between HSS and NewYork Presbyterian Hospital for orthopedics;
    • Providing back-up to other roles in the department as needed;
    • Additional administrative responsibilities as directed by department leadership.

    • Experience with Epic preferred; strong computer skills required
    • In-depth understanding of medical office workflows, systems and processes
    • Knowledge of healthcare and health insurance, preferred
    • Familiarity with medical terminology, preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate’s degree required. Experience may be considered in lieu of education
